Police have arrested a Southwest Virginia woman accused of faking a pregnancy.

Elizabeth Ann Jones of Scott County was arrested Monday.

A Wise County grand jury recently indicted Jones on nine felony counts of obtaining money under false pretense.

She was previously charged with violation of probation.

Laura and Matt Trayte of California say Jones lied to them when she told the couple she was pregnant. The Traytes had entered an agreement with Jones to adopt the baby.

The new charges are related to various purchases, including meals, baby clothing, and professional photos to announce the adoption.

Jones is due in court for violation of probation on May 3. Another court hearing has been scheduled for June 26 for the other charges.
