WISE COUNTY, Va. (WJHL)- Authorities have arrested the father of a young infant after they say the baby died of head trauma.
According to to a news release from the Wise County Sheriff’s Office, a seven-week-old infant was brought to Mountain View Hospital in Norton, Virginia and was unresponsive.
That infant died at the hospital.
An autopsy found the cause of death was ‘head trauma.’
Authorities arrested the infant’s father, Nicholas Logan Plaster, 21, of Coeburn and charged him with several counts including felony murder and felony child abuse.
Plaster was arrested on June 5th and is now being held at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail without bond.
