GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL)- News Channel 11 has learned officials are hoping to have a stand-alone Chick-Fil-A open in Greeneville by January 2020.

That is according to Tim Burchfield, a local Chick-Fil-A operator.

Greeneville Planning Director Logan Engle told News Channel 11 on Thursday that the restaurant has been in the works for the past four or five months.

The proposed site for the restaurant would be in the Crockett Crossing shopping center on East Andrew Johnson Highway. Engle told News Channel 11 there is a restaurant currently on the property called Georgia’s Southern Table.

Preliminary site plan approval could come May 14 at the Greeneville Regional Planning Commission.

Right now, the only Chick-fil-a in the county is on the Tusculum campus. It’s part of its food service and open to the public.
