Tire Discounters tried breaking a world record while also raising awareness Wednesday.
The tire shop’s owner attempted to break the record for building the tallest doughnut stack in 1 minute; using the yummy treats as a way to remind drivers about the “donut” tire in the back of your car – your spare tire.
Spare tires are often forgotten about until an emergency occurs, such as a flat tire.
“If you do have a spare tire and it’s flat because it’s been neglected for the last 5 years and never been checked – now you’re stuck on the side of the road, without being able to perfor the task of changing your tire, or having someone change it for you,” said Dave Glovack, Tire Discounters general manager. “So, it’s one of those things you don’t want to forget about until you actually need it.”
All day Wednesday, Tire Discounters offered free tire inspections to make sure those spare tires are ready to go.
