    Job Description

    A&F is seeking an eager, smart, hardworking law student to join its in-house legal department as a legal intern in the retail compliance functions (including privacy, marketing and commercial issues). The legal intern will work on matters related to customer service, product regulatory compliance (including product safety, labeling, and children’s product safety), sustainability and environmental issues and regulations, transportation, supply chain, and other Retail Operations areas.

    What will you be doing?

    • Work closely with in-house counsel to conduct legal research on a wide-range of topics

    • Partner with the regulatory team, in-house counsel, and outside counsel to assist with matters related to product compliance, including recalls, child safety and labeling compliance,
    • Work with the sustainability team on environmental and sustainability matters, including non-governmental organization (NGO) activity,
    • Work with the transportation and supply chain teams on dangerous goods transportation, storage, and disposal,
    • Research and providing guidance on both domestic and international upcoming and current legislation,
    • Assist with matters relating to product claims (example: “waterproof”, “recycled”),
    • Create and update legal tracking documents and projects

    What will you need to bring?

    • 1 to 2 years of law school experience
    • Strong research skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to think strategically and provide critical analysis and risk assessment
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Ability to juggle varied and demanding workload and to manage competing priorities and deadlines
    • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
    • Strong word processing and excel skills are a plus
