Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS)- information for school on Tuesday, 9/8/20

As a result of the anticipated PG&E public safety power shut off (PSPS), we will lose power somewhere between 9 pm tonight and 1 am tomorrow depending on forecasted wind and high temperatures. The anticipated shut down is currently estimated to last through Wednesday, September 9th, 7 pm depending on weather and equipment damage.

PG&E is working today to set up a Community Resource Center at GJSHS parking lot and Safeway in Quincy. If PG&E can provide additional details they will do so. We will keep you informed. For the most up to date information, please visit the following site: https://pgealerts.alerts.pge.com/updates/

Please plan for the following:

Chester and Greenville – schools will be closed on Tuesday, September 8th.
Quincy – it is not yet known which portions of Quincy may or may not lose power. Until we hear differently, Quincy schools are open tomorrow. We plan to contact families no later than 6 am on Tuesday, September 8th.
Portola - schools are open on Tuesday, September 8th.
