The New Orleans Business Alliance is working with public and private partners to ensure that New Orleans residents and businesses have access to all available resources to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.

SBA Shuttered Venue Operators Grant

NOLABA is proud to be partnering with the City of New Orleans again to obtain much-needed support from local technical assistance (TA) providers to aid eligible venue owners in submitting applications to the SBA’s Shuttered Venue Operators Grant Program. Our organization will enlist these TA providers, paying them $250 for each eligible venue they help with applying.

The City of New Orleans is directly responding to cases of COVID-19, commonly known as the coronavirus. Text COVIDNOLA to 888777 to receive alerts. Visit NOLA Ready for up to date information about the outbreak in New Orleans and suggested responses to minimize spread and exposure.

Louisiana Department of Health

The Louisiana Department of Health has provided a full set of guidelines to ensure that Louisianians are informed and prepared to respond to this health crisis.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention is the federal agency tasked with driving the US domestic response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Resources and Relief Efforts

New Orleans Business Alliance

As a result of the economic impact of COVID-19, the New Orleans Business Alliance has created a number of resources to support residents and businesses throughout the pandemic, including technical assistance for Main Street Recovery Program applicants, paid shifts at community food banks, and the Gig Economy Relief Fund.

Small Business Administration

The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering designated states and territories low-interest federal disaster loans for working capital to small businesses suffering substantial economic injury as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Greater New Orleans Foundation

The Greater New Orleans Foundation has activated its Disaster Response and Restoration Fund to directly benefit nonprofits working to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak.

New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board

New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board is suspending service shut offs while an emergency declaration by Mayor LaToya Cantrell remains in place. They will be working to reconnect customers who currently have their water turned off, giving priority to seniors and chronic health conditions.

Entergy

Entergy New Orleans will halt some customer disconnections amid the COVID-19 crisis.

Verizon

Verizon will waive late fees that any residential or small business customers incur because of their economic circumstances related to the coronavirus. In addition, the company will not terminate service to any residential or small business customers because of their inability to pay their bills due to disruptions caused by the coronavirus.

AT&T

For the next 60 days, AT&T will not terminate the service of any wireless, residential, or small business customer. They will waive any late fees that customers may incur because of economic hardship related to the coronavirus pandemic. They will also be keeping their public Wi-FI hotspots open.

Office of Economic Development

The City of New Orleans is gathering information on the business impact of COVID-19. Responses to this survey will be used to determine potential emergency Federal business support. Louisiana Department of Revenue

Critical workers who responded to the onset of COVID-19 in Louisiana can start applying for a one-time $250 hazard payment.  The Louisiana Department of Revenue has established this website for workers to apply, beginning Wednesday, July 15.  Eligible individuals include healthcare workers, bus drivers, and grocery store clerks who earn less than $50,000.  The program was implemented through a measure passed by the Louisiana Legislature using CARES Act funding.  To read more, please click here.

Federal Reserve System

The Federal Reserve is offering a new federal loan program for larger businesses called the Main Street Lending Facility.  Local lenders participating in the program can be found here.  

NOLA Ready

The City of New Orleans has created the COVID-19 Meal Assistance Program. In collaboration with FEMA, local restaurants will provide free meals to New Orleans residents who have been impacted by COVID-19. Qualifying residents are asked to call 3-1-1 or go to nola.gov/311 to apply for meals.  

Louisiana Housing Corporation

Louisiana Housing Corporation has launched the Louisiana Emergency Rental Assistance Program designed to help households financially impacted as a result of shutdowns, closures, layoffs, reduced work hours or unpaid leave due to the pandemic. Renters may complete an intake form online or via phone by dialing 2-1-1.

STATE OF LOUISIANA VACCINE HOTLINE

The State of Louisiana has launched a new Vaccine Hotline where you can call to schedule your appointment, find vaccine providers in your area and connect with medical professionals who can answer vaccine-related questions The hotline number is 1-855-453-0774, and its hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday.
