Meadowbrook’s Arena Project

Thank you to the nearly 300 donors who so generously supported Meadowbrook’s Arena Campaign over the past year. We’re excited to move forward now to build this long-awaited covered riding arena at Meadowbrook! The arena will be:

Beautiful. Our team of historic architects Miche Booz & Associates and GLW Engineering designed a beautiful structure that will be in keeping with our historic, 1934 barn. Our builder is B&D Builders of Lancaster, PA – true craftsmen who are recognized as the finest builders of equestrian structures working in the US today.

“Green.” The project includes environmental features such as stormwater management, native landscaping, and a solar power installation. It will reduce our fresh water and power usage, and reduce ambient light and dust to the community.

A cutting-edge training facility for our riders and horses. Riders will have consistent, year-round instruction, regardless of the weather. No more running indoors during a thunderstorm! And our horses will get the consistent, daily exercise and training that they need to stay healthy, in good footing conditions that promote soundness and fitness.

Tentative construction schedule. We anticipate the following schedule. Please note that dates and time periods may change slightly due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. We plan to begin work the week of October 19, and  our target completion date for construction is February 5, although landscaping may be completed in March or April, depending on the weather.

Phase I. Excavation and foundation: October-November
Phase II. Building and Installation: November-December
Phase III. Interior and exterior finihing: December-January
Phase IV. Landscaping: February-Spring
