Exploring the impact of trauma and stress on education stakeholders

After graduating with my master's degree in 2011 from the incredible Higher Ed program at NCSU, it became my goal to one day earn my PhD and become a full-time academic. Reaching the first part of this goal in 2017 at ODU, I spent the last 3 years on the faculty job market resulting in over 100 application rejections. I am very excited to share that my career dream of nearly a decade has finally come true, as I will be joining the faculty of Appalachian State University this fall as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Higher Education in the Reich College of Education where I will continue my research on how trauma impacts professional helpers in education organizations. I am truly the product of an incredible community of individuals that I have crossed paths with over the years. Thank you to those who have invested their time and energy in me, as well as all of those who put up with my many requests for study participation or other involvement in my research endeavors. Go Mountaineers! #highereducation #tenuretrack #appstate #traumastudies #secondarytrauma #education #traumainformededucation #academia #persistence #educationalleadership
