Yesterday we had the pleasure of deploying a UV lighting array with Severn Marine Technologies and Florida Institute of Technology's Center for Corrosion and Biofouling Control at the university's Mertens Marine Center. Building on CCBC's and Severn's biofouling research using UV, brushes and coatings, Arctic Rays built this UVC lighting to evaluate and develop solutions for optical biofouling through an Office of Naval Research program. "The Arctic Rays UV system makes this practical — no others have the efficiency of this system," says Hank Lobe, president at Severn Marine Technologies. "Arctic Rays is in the business of putting things in the water that work. It's just perfect. It's the way you should do things." Did someone say subsea asset monitoring? The stunning imaging+lighting quality of Arctic Rays meets the security of Milestone Systems XProtect video management software in the Alpheus Subsea Surveillance System. The heart of the system is Alpheus, our fiber optic gigabit smart ethernet hub and multiplexer telemetry system that provides switchable power, control and ground fault monitoring for gigabit ethernet devices, including IP cameras such as the Arctic Rays Thresher or Manta. Fueled by Milestone’s trusted XProtect platform, the integrated VMS allows users to view or control video feeds, lighting operation and telemetry data in-situ via tablet or laptop or through a fully configurable topside display interface. This system is ideal for a number of applications, including large-scale installations covering a wide area or requiring multiple angles of view, including asset monitoring at offshore wind farms or other alternative energy systems, fish farms, underwater habitats, diver operation areas and more. Visit our Custom Systems page to learn more and to download the Alpheus Subsea Surveillance System one-sheet. #ThinkDeep #TechTuesday #Alpheus #SubseaSurveillance
