A Lamar County man was charged with murder after deputies found his wife dead in their Oak Grove home.

Sheriff Danny Rigel said deputies were called to the home on Woodside around 10:45 p.m. Sunday after receiving a 911 call from a juvenile saying his parents were arguing.

The child met deputies outside the home and told them he thought he heard a gunshot while he was waiting for deputies to arrive.

When deputies entered the home, they found 33-year-old Percy Harris, who was taken into custody. As deputies continued the search, they found Harris' wife dead of an apparent gunshot wound.

Two other small children were discovered in the home, but were unharmed.

Coroner Cody Creel said the woman's name has not been released, pending notification of family.

Harris appeared Monday before Lamar County Justice Court Judge Charles Greer. He is being held without bond in Lamar County Jail.
