Gun Violence as a Public Health Crisis: Through the Lens of the Victim and Providers

In this webinar, you will hear from the MediSys Health Network’s Level 1 Trauma Center team about the grim impact of gun violence. This session will explore perspectives from a trauma surgeon’s frontline experiences and the mental health ramifications of gun violence on the victim and others. You will also hear first-hand from a survivor about how gun violence changed his life.

This is the third session in HANYS’ Gun Violence Prevention: The Hospital’s Role series.

Gun Violence Prevention: The Hospital’s Role Series

This webinar series will focus on promising practices in gun violence prevention and will explore the causes and the effects of trauma and violence on individuals, communities and organizations. You will have the opportunity to learn from hospital professionals who will demonstrate how their organizations instituted changes to prevent further gun violence and respond to its aftermath, both in their facilities and in their communities.
