In February 2020, Northwell Health established the Center for Gun Violence Prevention to help shape the role that Northwell and other health systems can play in advancing safety, education, prevention and research.

During this webinar, Chethan Sathya, MD, will discuss the ongoing work of the center, Dr. Sathya’s vision for it and highlights from Northwell Health’s Dec. 2019 gun violence prevention forum.

Gun Violence Prevention: The Hospital’s Role Series

This webinar series will focus on promising practices in gun violence prevention and will explore the causes and the effects of trauma and violence on individuals, communities and organizations. You will have the opportunity to learn from hospital professionals who will demonstrate how their organizations instituted changes to prevent further gun violence and respond to its aftermath, both in their facilities and in their communities.
