Improving WASH Evidence-Based Decision-Making Program (IWED) - Ghana

Summary

The IWED Ghana program worked with Ghana’s Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources (MSWR) to: develop and implement standard WASH data collection, management and reporting from the local to national level; build the capacity of WASH sector stakeholders to implement the newly developed data procedures; collect baseline data in selected regions; and establish an integrated information system to ensure proper data flow and generate sector reports and indicators.

IWED is a program under the USAID Water for Africa through Leadership and Institutional Support (WALIS) program that supports demand-driven initiatives identified by selected national WASH focal agencies in sub-Saharan Africa to foster better WASH policies, strategies, and decision-making.
