My students are a diverse group of eager learners. They are working hard to be college and career ready each day. I get to work with a dynamic group of 5th graders who run the morning news. Their enthusiasm and dedication to early morning arrival is inspiring and contagious.
The morning news broadcast builds community throughout the school with the entire student body as well as any parents or visitors present for the announcements.
Our 5th graders welcome peers, teachers, and guests to the newsroom for various appearances which allow all students at River Eves Elementary to connect to their peers, teachers, and community members. Our 5th grade news crew helps mentor the students saying the Pledge of Allegiance, fostering a bond across grade levels. Students of all ages are learning real world skills while building confidence through teamwork and collaboration.
My Project
A new audio/video mixer will allow students to continue to grow in leadership roles as well as provide quality broadcasts for the student body. It will also allow students more hands-on learning opportunities as they will be able to be more involved with an updated system.
