UTICA–U.S. Congressman Anthony Brindisi exclusively told Eyewitness News on Wednesday that he plans to run for re-election in 2020.

Brindisi, a Democrat serving New York’s 22nd Congressional district, was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives last November, after defeating then-GOP Congresswoman Claudia Tenney.

Tenney told CNBC in July that she mulled a decision to run again.

Three other Republicans have said they are pursuing the NY-22 seat: Broome County District Attorney Steve Cornwell, Binghamton-native George Phillips and Franklin Sager of Port Crane.
