JAMES M. SKERNIVITZ age 53. Detective with the Cleveland Police Department. Killed in the line of duty of September 3, 2020. Beloved husband of Kristen Kilburg. Devoted father of Matthew Collecchi, Bayleigh Skernivitz and Peyton Skernivitz. Son of Sandra and the late James Skernivitz. Dear brother of Greg Skernivitz. Son in law of George and Marcia Kilburg and brother in law of Jackie Thompson, George Kilburg, Stacey Zahuranec and David Kilburg. Uncle, cousin and friend of many. 

A Funeral Service will be held in the Rocket Mortgage Field House, 1 Center Court, Cleveland, Ohio 44115 at 10:00AM on Friday September 11, 2020.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family in support of his children's education would be greatly appreciated. Friends will be received (WITH MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIRED) Thursday September 10, 2020 from 2 - 8 PM at the A. RIPEPI AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 18149 BAGLEY ROAD, MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, OHIO 44130 (WEST of I-71)
