Click here to access the recording

Learn about the expanding opportunities to leverage scholarly metadata to deliver quickly on changing market needs. The intersection of publishing and metadata has never had a greater impact in reduced project costs, faster time-to-market, and higher content quality. Society publishers who master the power of metadata will benefit from knowing what data they have, its value, how it may be accessed, and the importance of data metrics.

21 April, Online at 11:00-12:30 EDT (New York), 16:00-17:30 BST (UK), 17:00-18:30 CEST (Central Europe)

** If you are unable to join the webinar live, you may still register and will automatically receive a recording after event for viewing at a time to suit you.**

Overview

Feel like you hear too much about metadata? Not enough? Find it confusing? Of vital importance? Yes to all of the above! In very practical ways, metadata has different implications for different roles in scholarly communications and like so many topics close to us, it can be hard to sift through the available information to find out what it means to you. Regardless of experience, understanding or enthusiasm (or lack thereof), metadata is important to us all and this session aims to show you how

Join our panel of experts to understand the challenges and opportunities for everyone involved in or affected by scholarly metadata (so, pretty much everyone)-authors, editors, librarians, service providers and more. With real-life use cases and a little humour, together we will cover topics like:

  • What are PIDs and will we ever see an end to new ones?
  • How on earth do I know what’s in my metadata? Or yours?
  • Who’s using all of this metadata anyway and for what exactly?
  • Why should I care about it?

Dr. Ian Synge, a principal consultant with Copyright Clearance Center, based in London spoke recently with CCC’s Chris Kenneally to offer a program preview. Full details here
