In November, ULI Washington hosted its second virtual Technical Assistance Panel (TAP). TAPs provide sponsors throughout the greater Washington D.C. metro area the opportunity to have select member experts provide recommendations on land use questions. Nearly 20 years ago, the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) released a plan to develop the Westphalia area. Since then, changing market conditions within the site, Prince George’s County, and the greater Washington region have affected the viability of the plan. M-NCPPC seeks the experience of planners and developers both within and beyond the country to better understand these changing conditions, learn from a range of stakeholders, and propose a shared vision for future development at Westphalia . ULI Washington’s TAP Panelists addressed the following questions regarding development at Westphalia:
During the week of November 16th, panelists worked with the sponsor and conducted stakeholder interviews to learn more about Westphalia and develop a set of recommendations to address these questions. On Friday, November 20th the panel presented their findings and recommendations to the public during a live presentation.
