Basil Brush reads Sadsville - a Whimsical and Magical illustrated Children's book aimed at 6 to 10 year olds, written by TV Property Guru Martin Roberts from Homes under the Hammer.
The legendary children's entertainer has joined forced with Martin to narrate this fun book to keep kids entertained, but also help children deal with their own emotions in a more effective way, and help support the invaluable work of the NSPCC and their Childline service.
Although just a whimsical, fun, illustrated story, Sadsville imparts an important message about dealing with emotions, and encourages children to look at their own situation from a slightly different perspective, and hopefully analyse any sadness they may be feeling.
It also contains advice of who to turn to in times of sadness. It forms part of the current main project supported by Martin's own charity- The Martin Roberts Foundation (Reg Charity No 1172905)

The Martin Roberts Foundation
The first project to be undertaken by the Martin Roberts Foundation (Charity No 1172905) is to give a FREE copy of Sadsville to EVERY year 4 (8 & 9 year old) child in the UK. The book helps children deal with emotions and mental wellbeing issues, enabling them to understand the difference between ‘Good sad’ that is just part of “Life” and will naturally pass, and ‘Bad sad’ which they need to reach out for help to deal with.
Distributed to the children through their school, it is accompanied by extensive teachers materials, including a lesson plan and assembly guide. It has been warmly welcomed by the teaching profession in the 600+ schools it has been given to so far, and is being hailed as an invaluable tool to help introduce difficult concepts at a crucial development stage.
A Nationwide roll out of the project is on-going, pending suitable sponsorship and charitable fundraising, with initiatives including Crowd Funding, Corporate sponsorship and grant giving being simultaneously pursued. Having recently competed distribution to schools in Somerset and Hampshire, the next areas for book release include Greater Manchester, Wiltshire and Oxfordshire.
