Former UAlbany student-athlete Cara White has been part of the athletics administration since 2002 and full time since 2004, currently serving as the Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator. White serves as a member of the departments senior leadership team, providing strategic direction on departmental initiatives, policy development and implementation, enhancement of athletic performance, student-athlete welfare, Title IX compliance, equity, diversity and inclusion. In 2019, she was selected to serve as the Chair of the America East Senior Woman Administrator Committee and serves on the conferences Committee on Championships and Competitions.
White has sport supervision of women’s soccer, women’s basketball and men’s lacrosse, in addition to Sports Medicine and Strength & Conditioning.
In 2012, White as promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Facilities, Game Management & Operations and Senior Woman Administrator. She had previously held the title of Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities, Game Management and Community Outreach since 2004. Â
White is a current member of National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics and Women Leaders in College Sports.
A native of Beamsville, Ontario, Canada, White played for the UAlbany women's basketball team from 1998-2002, including the program's first-ever Division I squad. Â She was a team captain and the 2001-02 America East Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
She graduated from UAlbany in 2002 with a degree in human biology, earning her Master's Degree of Public Heath in 2004. She resides in the Capital District with her two children, Braden and Bryar.
