Spoilery Review..
Finally a heroine who’s very much experienced and is not ashamed of her lifestyle.
I liked her. You know how long has been since I’ve read a heroine like this.…? So long.. all you find now it’s books with virgins paired with manwhores so i was pleasantly surprised when I started this book. She was practically the equivalent of the experienced hero who likes to kick women out of the bed. And I loved it. This probably deserves 3 stars but because she’s a unicorn in an endless sea of virgins or frozen heroines, I’m rating it 4 stars.
“What’s wrong with what I do? I fuck. I have orgasms and move on. I don’t ask for anything from them, and I sure as hell don’t promise to give them more than one night.”
“A prostitute gets paid. I don’t get paid. I have one goal, a good time. Let me ask you something, how come a man can screw as many women as he wants, yet when a woman has sex without being in a relationship, she’s a whore? Can you explain that to me.”
“I don’t promise these men anything, and I don’t ask for anything in return. Am I uncertain what the guy’s name is who I tossed out tonight? Yes. Does it make me a bad person? Absolutely not. My lifestyle might not be for everyone, but it works for me.”

Safety: They met when they were kids, she was 5 and he was 7. Were best friends for 5 years. She was severely abused by her foster parents. She thought he betrayed her. He never did. What he did was to tell his mother and she was removed from the assholes that abused her. She didn’t want to leave him. They don’t see each other until 17 years later. They both have been with OP. This doesn’t bother me since they both have slept with other people. They don’t recognize each other at all when they meet again. He’s all about her even when women were throwing themselves at him.
This might be a trigger to some.

4.5 STARS | BEAUTIFULLY SCARRED is definitely a PUNCH to the heart while reading this EMOTIONAL dark second chance romance! This was a very tough book to read because of so many trigger warnings including child abuse, self-harm, and acts of violence. Thank you to the author for sending me a copy in the mail to review! The story follows tattoo artist Mills falling in love with tattooed Lee, not knowing a dark secret laid between them in the past. Causing them with pain and the scars that bring their true identity back together a second chance for love! A powerful romance that teaches you that the scars you have from the past, to let them go, for what’s in front of you all along in the present!

Beautifully Scarred is a great read. I loved it. I was totaled hooked on this story and read it in one sitting. This one is definitely a must read. Juliette is just a beautiful character. She's gone through a lot. She has a good life now but her pass was far from good. She has huge walls up and doesn't do relationships. Lee is amazing guy. He's persistent but patient. These two are drawn to together and have great chemistry. Their story pulls at your heart strings. I loved loved this one.

I finished this book early this morning, and I'm still trying to find the words to convey just how special and beautiful this book is. There are hard -- but very important -- subject matters that deserves to be discussed and heard, and I'm trying so hard not to give anything away because this is a book that you MUST go in blind for. Just know that once you start, you won't be able to stop. This author will captivate you with her beautiful words and leave you reeling until the very last page until she puts the broken pieces of your heart back together.
Juliette is a beautifully broken character who is trying to move on from her horrible past. She has a strong aversion to relationships because she feels like she'll never let her guard down and let someone see all of her broken pieces, so she has one night stands when the need arises and then never thinks about them again. But that all changes when she meets the beautiful, tattooed stranger with the hypnotizing eyes who makes her want things that she never expected to want.
Lee is a magnetic force of a man, who has such a wonderful heart. He is a tattoo artist just like Juliette is, and seeing him fall in love so quickly and so passionately with our first heroine made my heart swell. He is truly one of the best heroes I've read in a book in quite some time, and I love how amazing he was. Even though Juliette wouldn't let him in all the way for a period of time, he knew exactly when to push, when to back off, and when to just love her harder. It was just so perfect.
I can't tell you much more about the book, other than the fact that it's a must read, and to have tissues ready. This is a book that will stay with you long after reading, and is just so damn beautiful. A book like this reminds me exactly why I love reading so much, and just how rare it is to find a book that will touch your soul. Please read this book as soon as you can!

This is a beautiful raw emotional read.
Juliette aka Mills is a Survivor, although still troubled by her abusive damaged past she's has moved forward in life. Make no mistake this girl is strong, the scars on the outside are healed but those inside still determine most of her life decisions. Having been fortunate to have gained loving adoptive parents and now a career she loves, everything is finally on an even keel for her.
Lee blows into her life like an unwanted storm, one she can't avoid !! He makes her uncomfortable, he evokes emotions and feelings she's spent 17 years burying.
Lee on the other hand is determined to get to know this girl, even if it means breaking down those walls brick by brick and surely the fact that they both share a love of their careers can be nothing but a bonus and an added connection he will fully use to his advantage.
I loved this girl !! Her strength, her character, and even though her heart was locked up, she radiated caring and compassion.
Lee was definitely a man you want to get to know, there is so much more behind his story and i loved how the author brought this couple and their growing relationship together.
My emotions were in tatters, and i just couldn't control the tears the more i got in to both Lee and Mills story. It hurt, it really hurt, to feel their pain and anguish, being loved can be the best thing in the world, but love can also be the weapon that slays us and leave us forever changed. This couples story was written beautifully and i didn't want it to end. A raw emotional Romance that will restore you faith that Love really is worth fighting for !!!!

Juliette has a past that's left her scarred both physically and emotionally. Then one night she meets Lee and he seems intent on being in her life, making it past all the defenses she's put up over the years. If she lets him in, she might find the love and peace she, everyone, deserves.
This packed quite an emotional punch. Juliette had been through so much and it had damaged her almost beyond repair. She needed a strong partner, one who wouldn't run when she did her usual pushing away. Lee was the breakout star of the story for me, the way he loved her and broke down her walls. So beautiful!

I really, really enjoyed this book. I love when something tragic becomes beautiful!!

This is a well told story about Juliette learning to make peace with the past, so she can learn to live with the present. Juliette may claim that she wears her scars proudly, but she has more to learn than she thought. She’s still hiding. Hiding her heart. Her impenetrable walls keep her safe. That is, until she meets him…
He pushes her outside her comfort zone and makes her break every rule she forced herself to have. Rules that ensure her carefully crafted, protective wall stays in place.
“But with this man, I’m a moth to a flame, I’m bound to get burned. I can feel it.”
She hates that he makes her feel. He tears away at her carefully erected walls. Doing everything he can to show her love. Will her fear override her desire to love? Will she learn to trust? Will peace ever be hers?
The author gives us a great well-paced story. I liked the characters, they had depth with lots of complexity. Experiencing Juliette’s journey learning to trust is an emotionally beautiful story.

This is the first time I read a book written by this author and it won’t be the last time. This 6 star story was read in one sitting. The sad part is that I had never heard of this author and I saw the amazing cover and read the blurb and took a chance. I’m super glad I did.
Juliette comes from a troubled past and has never fully moved on. Then Lee comes into her life. She doesn’t date or see the same guy twice but he’s very persistent.
This amazing story had all the feels. A solid page turner that sucked me in and didn’t let me go until the last page was read. Even then I wanted more. The characters are what makes me love a story. Juliette has been through so much. She doesn’t let people in easily or trust. Lee makes her feel things she’s not ready for. Lee is very persistent and doesn’t want to let go of her.
An amazingly written story with a seamless plot. A story that made me swoon. It’s entertaining and captivating. There was never a dull moment. I can’t say enough about it, it just needs to be read.
Standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.

Again ....a cover that send shivers up my spine ! I just know this is going to be an epic read ! A read , that pardon the pun , is going to leave a scar on my heart.......
We all have scars, some deeper than others and it really touched me me how compassionate Jules is and how she reaches out to those to make their "ugly" into something "beautiful" she is the kind of person that speaks directly to your heart 💙 LOVE YOU GIRL !
I just love how Jules explains friendship because sometimes a friend is the family you don't have 👭💕

When I first met Juliette (Jules) my heart just shattered into a gazillion pieces , i physically hurt as to what happened and I cried buckets for this little girl ......I kid you not ....
The little girl I met has grown up and her dreams are haunted but she's a tough cookie and her sidekick Quinn is awesome ! A girl couldn't ask for a better sister from another mother ! 💕👭
Also they're polar opposites Quinn is a lady with pretty nails ,hair ,face ,body and the list goes on whereas Jules has a different hair colour almost a weekly basis and is pretty much inked up all over but both have hearts if gold despite the deep hurt one carries around .....
Jules didn't have an easy childhood but she had Lee (Brennan)to help her and he was her rock but she had to be taken away and the best things happens to her , she gains a family that loves her but at the same time the worst thing happens , she loses her rock .....
Lee seemed so familiar when I met him and he's quite easy on the eye , I'm quite sure he could melt the knickers off a nun! 🙈🤭🤣
Lee /Brennan and Jules /Mills paths cross and being part of their journey was one of the biggest gifts 💕📚

Juliette Mills, a tattoo artist with a tough exterior, has a lot of scars from her past and a tendency to stick to one night stands when she meets Lee Hart, a persistent and amazing guy, who found himself drawn to Juliette immediately. The story unfolds and you quickly find out that some scars are harder to heal than others. H.P. Davenport wrote a beautiful story about finding ways to heal old scars and opening your heart to new experiences.

But when ‘Lee’ flirtatiously attracts her attention in a bar, there is something about him that Mills is drawn to. He is the man that sticks in her mind, and haunts her dreams and all in the wrong ways! She wishes she could stay away from him, but the attraction and temptation is too strong.
Lee is confident, a charmer, but there’s no doubt he finds Mills irresistible. She has eyes that draw him in, and an attitude that intrigues him, but it soon becomes clear that Mills puts up walls, and Lee is desperate to break them down.
There are only four people in Mills’ life that she trusts, one being a long lost friend from her childhood who made her feel safe, her best friend Quinn and her adoptive parents, anyone else is kept at bay. But with Lee it’s almost like they’re fated to be together, like he knows her and they fit, but can she open herself up to him and let her see her inner and outer scars?
This book is a book that is very unique in its topic choices, and I applaud any author who attempts to discuss difficult hard-hitting topics such as abuse and self-harm. They are important topics, and in this book they are beautifully written in a respectful and poignant way. I love that this is a story about a woman overcoming everything, her past, her troubles, the loss of her father. It has lots of twists and turns, but the romance is hot and Lee’s love is unwavering.
I love the tattoo shop dynamics, and Mills is so empowering as a character and I absolutely loved her from the get go. I read this book all in one sitting, and it was genuinely because I could get enough of the story, the relationship dynamic and Lee!
This is definitely a book for all romance lovers, especially readers who looks for modern and unique reads.

The journey they will take you on is unforgettable, it's one filled with many ups and downs, loads of heart-wrenching emotion, and intense passion. This beautifully written romance had so much more than a love story. Lee and Jules had an instant chemistry that was ablaze the moment they met. Jules had so many demons to fight to get where she was in life and I adored her for the courage and strength she showed when she was dealing with memories of a past she couldn't escape. I loved her parents so much, they supported her and loved her unconditionally like a parent should and it seemed fate brought her to the people she needed most at several points in her life.
I feel like the hard stuff mentioned in the story were written in a way that was rough and real, it wasn't sugar coated or glossed over. That's important to me as a reader that when I read about subjects that effect people on an extremely deep level that the author conveys it in a real way, a way that doesn't make it less than what it is. H.P. wrote these beautifully with care but made sure to convey the seriousness of the issues and I have the utmost respect for that.

OH my goodness, this is an emotional read! Grab tissues & get ready to fall in love with Mills & Lee.
I wasn't sure how I felt about Juliette at the beginning. Her approach to sex is not something I enjoy in my main characters - male or female - because I don't want to read about them w/ other ppl. And while the opening isn't graphic by any means, it still put me off her a bit right from the start. So, imagine my surprise when I found myself actually really liking her! She has reasons for the way she's been w/ men, and as I read, I understood why her story had to open the way it did.
Lee... *swoon* He is cocky without being a jerk. I love how they meet & all the things they discover they like about each other. There are steamy (STEAM-Y) times but there are also the sweet times when they're just hanging out, being together & falling for each other.
I got swept away into their story, and I LOOOOOOVE the connections & their relationships w/ the other characters. Thumbs up! Beautifully Scarred is a beautiful story. : )

Juliette is a survivor who is broken by her past, and Lee is determined to get to know the real her. No spoilers: this is a must read, this gifted author had outdone herself with this story. This is a beautifully written story which is an emotional roller coaster journey throughout, as well as being an intense, raw and powerful read which had me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner. Be aware this story covers sensitive subject matters which this author had done a phenomenal job in penning, but there may be triggers for some readers!

This was my first story by this author but I'll be awaiting more for sure. Mills and Lee's story has big heart and even though I figured out early on what direction the author was headed I was HERE FOR IT.
This pair has some intense challenges in their way, many of which are Mills herself. Overall, it's a fantastic steamy love story and you can't help but root for this couple's HEA.
Highly recommend!

This was a new to me author and one I'll definitely be interested in reading more from.
Loved the message of empowerment that was sprinkled throughout the book in many different ways, was definitely something I needed to read.
Also the message of trusting in fate, that things will happen the way they are meant to.
Definitely a must read for those who struggle on a daily basis.

Oh my goodness, this book is fantastic. I'm not even going to tag it with all of my shelves that it should be on, because you need to go into this book blind. It's not easy to read — but the ending is so, so wonderful, and the connection between Mills and Lee is amazing, and the kind of thing that makes you believe in fate and some kind of greater power.
Mills had a horrific childhood, suffered extreme abuse at the hands of her foster family, and 20 years later still remains guarded and has a wall of armor up around herself. She was adopted by great people, and she found her calling as a tattoo artist. She's also found great joy in donating her services to people who want to cover up their scars with body art, helping them turn something shameful into something to wear with pride. In her personal life, Mills doesn't do repeats, doesn't do relationships. But that all gets blown apart after one kiss with a stranger she meets at a bar.
There's an instant connection between Mills and Lee, and they both feel it deep down in their bones. Why they feel that connection -- well, I was in tears by that point of the book. Mills is a tough nut to crack, but Lee doesn't give up and their relationship ends up healing the internal scars and wounds that they are both carrying. Juliette aka Mills is a woman who has been through so much more then any one human should go through in her short life. She has walls that go so high you can’t even hope to get them brick by brick you have to hope/pray to bash through.
Lee is a beautiful man who understands what he sees and he sets out from the start to be what she needs to be able to get in there. He is kind, compassionate, hard working, sexy and very much dedicated to living this life to the fullest and when he sees Mills he sees something in her that he will try brick by brick to her to the heart of her.
The topics in this book are so touching and real you just truly cannot put it down. It’s friends, family, work, real life, trauma, than it is coming through that trauma on top. Rebuilding your life and giving in to the true relationships you have built through your life.
HP Davenport is a rare gem I hope everyone gets the time to read her books. All of them to date are amazing and Beautifully Scarred is so much more then a romance, it’s so much more then a book to pass the time. She brings you in to the life of Mills and Lee and you feel everything they do, from the most despairing times a person can endure to the most amazing moments of a lifetime. This is a beyond 5 star for me. Please take the time to read this book it is amazing and you will never regret a second. I devoured this book in a day it was just that good.
A beautifully scarred Mill's aka Juliette suffered horribly in her childhood but this is what shaped her into the feisty take no prisoners warrior she is now! She meets Lee one night after work and the chemistry is instant, there is a connection for both of them that neither of them can explain but neither can stay away from the other.
A fantastic read, you will be drawn into the story from the start and it will hold you captive until the very end.
