2020 SMASH Academy

PROGRAM DEADLINE: February 28, 2020 at 11:59 PM PST (Midnight) - CLOSED

This program is inactive or past the deadline.

Description

SMASH Academy is a 100% FREE STEM-intensive college preparatory program that empowers students from backgrounds underrepresented in STEM to thrive in STEM careers so that they can be the change they want to see in your community.

Students begin SMASH the summer after 9th grade, living on campus for 5 weeks each summer, and continue this throughout all 3 years of high school. During the school year students meet for additional workshops.  SMASH Alumni continue to receive support in the form of coaching, access to opportunities like conferences and paid internships, and more.

There are currently ten SMASH sites: SMASH Berkeley, SMASH Davis, SMASH UCLA, SMASH Stanford, SMASH Morehouse, SMASH Wayne State, SMASH Wharton, SMASH Illinois, SMASH Michigan, and SMASH Northeastern.

We understand that all members of the SMASH community -scholars, families, staff, and other stakeholders- have ideas, expertise, and life experiences that enable each of us to make valuable contributions. Diverse representation by, but not limited to, people of color, women of all backgrounds, and people from our LGBTQ+ community is the rule at SMASH, not the exception.

Please review our eligibility requirements before applying.
