Pre-Tryout Website

This website will be updated as we receive information about this upcoming cheer season. Coach Long and Coach Newman are looking forward to making up try-outs and beginning our season, but for now we are in a waiting period. Please check back on this website for more information as we receive it from our district.

Tryouts are July 13-17, 2020, 4:30-6:30 in the gibbs middle school gym.

Camp will be held july 20-24, 2020, in the Gibbs Middle School gym from 9:00 am- Noon.

KCS recommendations on extracurricular summer athletic Activities and summer group activities will be based on the KCHD Phases and the recommendations during that phase by KCHD and NFSA using:

  • "A Community Strategy for Phased Reopening" (A.C.S.P.R.) for Knox County and City of Knoxville created by the Knox County Health Department (KCHD). Phase 2 Amendment (May 22, 2020)

  • "Guidance for Opening Up High School Athletics and Activities" developed by the National Federation of State High School Association (NFHS) and Sports Medicine Advisory Committee (SMAC).

  • CDC Guidance on Youth Sports (May 2020)

  • April 28th letter from TSSAA on summer athletic activities from TSSAA website.

  • Conversations with various athletic departments across the state and Athletic Directors in Knox County.

Phase Two Requirements

  • Physical distancing of at least 6 ft when in public.

  • Wearing cloth face covering when physical distancing cannot be consistently maintained.

  • Hand-washing with soap and water or hand sanitizer if hands are not visibly soiled.

  • Cleaning surfaces with soap and water or disinfectant.

  • Staying home if you are sick or instructed to isolate/quarantine.
