Striding for Survival

Striding for Survival is Pancreatic Cancer Action’s annual flagship event which is taking place on the 4th June at the beautiful Windsor Great Park, Virginia Water.

The first walk was held in 2011 organised by Rachael Rogan who lost her father to pancreatic cancer.

Striding for Survival is a family friendly walk and run and which offers participants distances of 3km, 7km, 10k both starting and ending at the same location near the cafe and taking you around the beautiful grounds of Virginia Water and the great lake.

The event is the perfect opportunity for supporters of all ages to come together and walk as one to beat the disease.

Ali Stunt, founder and CEO of the charity says “We are delighted to be able to hold our Striding for Survival event again this year as it is a great atmosphere where supporters can unite together to fight this disease”

Pancreatic cancer is the UK’s 5th biggest cancer killer. The survival rate is just 5% which is the lowest of any cancer.

Pancreatic Cancer Action is committed to working towards earlier diagnosis of the disease so that surgery, currently the only cure, is made available to the sufferer.  The charity fund research into early diagnosis, provide medical education programmes, and launch awareness campaigns.
