2020 OMA Virtual Pre-Conference Tours

A virtual conference means we aren’t just confined to one city for our museum tours! Ohio museums have so many interesting, unique and engaging virtual tours available, and we want to share them with OMA 2020 attendees! See below for a full list of available tours to explore whenever you would like!

Virtual Tours at Ohio Museums

Akron Art Museum: Akron Art Museum is offering a virtual tour through their special exhibit “Elias Sime: Tightrope.” Learn more here.  

Cincinnati Art Museum: The Cincinnati Art Museum hosts an online collection on their website. You can also explore exhibitions and art via the Google Arts & Culture project.

Cleveland Hungarian Museum: Cleveland Hungarian Museum has several virtual tours and lectures available on their YouTube channel. The museum also has a completely interactive “Discover Hungarian Porcelain” experience. Learn more here.

Cleveland Museum of Art: The Cleveland Museum of Art has much of the museum’s collection available through their Online Collection, and through their ArtLens App, including hi-res artworks, videos, metadata, and more. Learn more here.

Decorative Arts Center of Ohio: The Decorative Arts Center of Ohio is offering several resources to experience "DACO at home," including virtual tours. Learn more here

Gund Gallery at Kenyon College: The Gund Gallery is offering a virtual exhibition and video guided tour for their AIDS Memorial Quilt installation that would have opened to the public in March.

Hancock Historical Museum: The Hancock Historical Museum is offering virtual tours. Learn more here.

Harriet Beecher Stowe House: The Harriet Beecher Stowe House has created a house tour video series.

Hayes Presidential Library & Museums: The Hayes Presidential Library & Museums is offering a virtual tour of the museum and a tour of the first floor of the Hayes Home.

Kennedy Museum of Art: The Kennedy Museum of Art has a virtual tour of the exhibitions Pattern and Disruption: Dine Lifeways and Embedded Mathematics (Learn more here) and Janus: There's More to What You See (Learn more here.) The OHIO Museum Complex Virtual Museum Portal is also available.

Kelleys Island Historical Association has a list of online tours available. Learn more here

Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center: The Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center has virtual museum tours available. Learn more here

National Museum of the Great Lakes: The National Museum of the Great Lakes has a virtual spin tour of the museum, available here. The museum has also published the online exhibit, Port of Toledo: Then and Now. This exhibit is updated every two weeks. Learn more here.

National Museum of the U.S. Air Force: The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force is offering a virtual tour of the entire museum. Learn more here

National Underground Railroad Freedom Center: The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center has online exhibits available. Learn more here.

Ohio Arts Council's Riffe Gallery: The Ohio Art Council's Riffe Gallery has an extensive offering of virtual art experiences, including the Ohio Diaspora virtual exhibition. Learn more here

Reeves Victorian Home and Carriage House Museum: The Reeves Museum tour guides are working to have a tour of the home, via video and photographs, available on Facebook. The museum will showcase 2-3 rooms per week. Learn more here.

Skirball Museum: The Skirball Museum is introducing a 3D virtual tour of the museum's core exhibition, "An Eternal People: The Jewish Experience," and of the new exhibit "Striking Medals: 50 Years of the Jewish-American Hall of Fame." The museum also has a gallery guide available for their Mayerson Hall artwork. Learn more here.

Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens: Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens is offering virtual tours of their Manor House. Learn more here.

Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum: The Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum offers three virtual tours via their free app. Learn more here.

Weston Art Gallery: The Weston Art Gallery has released a virtual tour of their recent exhibit, Todd Pavlisko: Pop Supernatural. See the tour here

Wood County Museum: The Wood County Museum now offers three exhibits and a “non-driving” tour of Wood County as virtual tour experiences: A Clean Bill of Health: Societal Response to Disease (hand-washing and social distancing of the last hundred years); Utopia: A Visual Storytelling of Our Home (a tribute to the Wood County Bicentennial); Chasing the White Rabbit: An Historical Look at American Mental Illness; and Wood County (non) Driving Tour (audio). Learn more here.
