Transit and Parking Is Hosting a Campus Food Drive
Nonperishable food items are needed in the food drive.
Transit and Parking is taking the lead on a November and December food drive and is setting up sites on campus to collect items, starting on Monday, Nov. 18.
The drive will last until Thursday, Dec. 12, which is the last day of classes for the semester.
Collection bins for food will be at the following locations on campus:
- UA Bookstore
- Transit and Parking offices at 155 South Razorback
- Harmon Avenue Parking Garage
- Union Station
The items collected will go to the Jane B. Gearhart Full Circle Food Pantry at Bud Walton Hall. It is possible that other area food pantry efforts will also be assisted.
Everyone is encouraged to leave canned goods at any of the collection areas. Suggested items include:
- canned fruit, vegetables, or meat
- peanut butter
- jelly
- pasta
- oatmeal
Many individuals within Transit and Parking are pledged to help make the food drive a success, including those who work for Razorback Transit, UA Bus Charters, parking enforcement, parking maintenance, and those on the office staff.
