MCPS Rocking Horse Road International Admissions and Enrollment Center is where Montgomery County Public Schools welcome the world! All international students who plan on attending a Montgomery County Public School must come to the Rocking Horse Center, located in Rockville, for testing, immunization forms, and many other aspects of enrollment.
Volunteers with the Washington Center for International Education (WCIE) will be responsible for setting up and staffing two "Welcome Tables" at the entrance of the MCPS Rocking Horse Road Center, will welcome families arriving at the Center, will guide families from one office to another and will assist families as they start the MCPS registration process.
Volunteers will play one of four defined roles, based on their age, experience, and communications skills: as “Orientation Assistants”, “Welcome Table Adult Volunteers”, "Sign-In Table Volunteers" or “Welcome Table Teen Volunteers.”

Volunteers must attend a required MCPS Training Session, and adult volunteers must complete a required MCPS Child Abuse Training module. Please register for a Training Session - see dates
Volunteer shifts will start on Tuesday, July 16 and continue through August and probably into September. Volunteers – adults and high school students, who can earn SSL credit – may sign up for half-day shifts, meaning morning shifts and/or afternoon shifts. Adult volunteers are required to volunteer for at least three half-day shifts and teens are required to volunteer for at least five half-day shifts.

High School students can earn SSL hours from this volunteer opportunity! High School students must be 14 or older and be able to communicate well in English.
