Support the Ohio History Fund

Hello Janet,

Tax time is here and the Ohio History Fund needs your help! The Ohio History Fund is one of the few grant programs in the state solely for history projects. Your contribution to the “Ohio History Fund” tax check-off on your state tax return makes these grants possible.

To donate, look for "Ohio History Fund" on your Ohio tax return (line 26f) and designate a dollar amount. That’s it! Your tax-deductible donation goes to support history projects in communities across the state.

Promote the tax check-off to your members, networks and contacts. Go to ohiohistory.org/historyfund, where you’ll find promotional materials to share with your colleagues, volunteers, and members.
We’re also happy to send rack cards, flyers, and other “swag” for you to share. If interested, email Mallory Skrobot, Marketing Manager at the Ohio History Connection, at mskrobot@ohiohistory.org to tell her how much collateral you’ll need and what address to send it to.
Now is the time to act: most people who contribute to the Ohio History Fund file their returns by Apr. 15. Most of the money the Ohio History Fund grants comes by this deadline.

Since the Ohio History Fund started in 2012, it has made 73 grants in 37 counties, totaling $645,569. There’s an even greater need: since 2013 the Ohio History Fund has received 388 grant applications from 66 counties, totaling more than $4.7 million in requests!

The Ohio History Fund's tax check-off brought in nearly $100,000 in 2019 and we know this year we can exceed $100,000 with your help. The more we all give to the Ohio History Fund, the more grants it makes.
