Our biggest fundraiser of the year, Le Grand Picnic, will be held on Sunday, July 21, and I hope you can help make it our best ever by becoming a sponsor.
Some of the funds raised at this year's event will help fund the purchase of a new 3D mammogram machine that combines multiple breast X-rays to create a three-dimensional picture of the breast. The cost of the machine is $350,000. Our current machine is nearing end-of-life and soon parts will not be available. According to the Mayo Clinic website, a 3D mammogram can:
- Reduce the need for follow-up imaging
- Detect slightly more cancers than a standard mammogram alone
- Improve breast cancer detection in dense breast tissue

We are also continuing to raise money for the Willerth Education Center to serve our community and hospital staff. The Willerth Education Center will be built on top of a parking structure that will be constructed in the tiered parking area near the Medical Office Building.

Now in its 28th year, this fundraiser has become a mountain tradition, attended by approximately 320 people. We are happy to announce that Gloria Loring - celebrity, actress and recording artist - will return as our Mistress of Ceremonies. The event features silent and live auctions, entertainment, food and drink from 15 local restaurants, as well as a raffle for a gold coin worth over $1,200!
The money we raise at Le Grand Picnic, and throughout the year, enables us to purchase equipment that would not be possible with patient revenue alone. Your support is vital to the health of MCH and our mountain community. If you have any questions, please call (909) 436-3210.
