The Lumonics Mind Spa was a site-specific art installation by Dorothy Tanner on the 1st floor of the McNichols Civic Center Building. It featured light sculptures by Dorothy and Mel Tanner (1925-1993), and music and video by Dorothy Tanner and Marc Billard.
Dorothy’s intention for this meditative environment was for everyone to experience new ways to stretch the body, expand the mind, and achieve greater spiritual awareness.
In addition to being open to the public Monday through Sunday, events including performances and workshops took place in association with the 7 Healing Stars Oneness Center (7HS): art and culture, health and wellness, education, nutrition, sustainability, and community.
Exhibition Viewing Times
Monday – Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday – Sunday: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Access to art exhibitions may be restricted due to private events.

We are honored to be part of the reception for the Americans for the Arts National Conference 2018 in the Lumonics Mind Spa at the McNichols Civic Center Building.
Happy City: Art for the People May 18 through June 30, 2018
Happy City: Art for the People is a six-week, citywide art intervention with the purpose of breaking down personal, emotional and social barriers, while nurturing individual and collective well-being.”
The project brings together more than 10 artists’ perspectives to address ideas of happiness and community wellness, in order to imagine a more connected society. The installation sites are located throughout Denver, and include streets, alleyways, billboards, video screens, and Union Station, among others.
The project is initiated by British artist Stuart Semple and pays homage to Canadian journalist Charles Montgomery’s influential publication “Happy City.” Montgomery’s book questions the intersection between urban design and the science of happiness. In response, Happy City: Art for the People provides unexpected art experiences in public spaces with the hope of inciting curiosity and encouraging togetherness. Overall, the project invokes the question – can a city be happy?

Our friends over at Denver Arts & Venues are hosting Lumonics Light & Sound Gallery at the McNichols Building.
From now until July 15th, head over to the McNichols Building to see the “Lumonics Mind Spa”, a timely site-specific art installation by Dorothy Tanner. It features light sculptures by Dorothy and the late Mel Tanner, and music and video by Dorothy Tanner and Marc Billard.
