Working in Uncertain Times: Ethical and Professional Considerations of Kentucky Interpreters During COVID-19 and Beyond Series (Part 4)
NOTE: This workshop is intended for signed language interpreters actively working and licensed in the state of Kentucky. Participants are encouraged, but not required, to attend all sessions, and can elect which sessions to attend to obtain CEUs (e.g. each completed attendance at a two-hour session will earn CEUs for that session). Please be sure to register for each session you plan to attend. Each session limited to 100 participants.
DESCRIPTION:
Participants of this workshop series will work collaboratively to examine and discuss the current status of interpreting in the state of Kentucky during the COVID-19 outbreak through the lens of ethical considerations, professional practices, and implications of power and privilege. Participants will actively engage with their peers through small and large group discussions to consider various perspectives and notions of these lenses through the use of three essential questions per session. Facilitators will utilize input from participants and discussion to organically develop essential questions that participants wish to explore in subsequent sessions of the series.
