JOB SUMMARY

The COVID Regional Coordinator position is responsible for building and maintaining a strong working knowledge of community resources in a given region within the state of Louisiana and working with COVID Program Managers and Care Resource Coordinators to ensure timely service provision. Positions are available for the following regions: Greater New Orleans, Florida Parishes, Acadiana, Central Louisiana, North Louisiana. This is a “tele work, work from home” position. Full-time shift work 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and 11:30 am to 8:00 pm AND work weekends. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Build and maintain a strong working knowledge of community resources in the region.
2. Serve as a resource expert for cases escalated by COVID Program Managers.
3. Quality Assurance Officer for assigned cases
4. Utilize the Louisiana 211 database, LA 211 FAQ for COVID-19, and independent searches for customized solutions. Including food banks, mental health services, visiting nurses, and other community programs helping patients in need and/or people in isolation or quarantine.
5. Communicate new or changing information needed for the LA 211 database to 211helpdesk@launitedway.org.
6. Maintain daily contact with the supervisor.
7. Manage and approved temporary financial resources
8. On-call for assigned shifts
9. Additional duties as assigned.
10. On-call as necessary

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

This position requires knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to:
• Masters degree in social work, human services, sociology, rehabilitation services is preferred
• Social work experience required
• Familiarity with experience working in Louisiana health system, experience working with community resources and social services in different parts of Louisiana that can inform connecting patients with COVID and their families to local resources.
• As needed, arrange for transportation or placement at state-provided alternative housing should it be needed
• Bilingual preferred
• Ability to exhibit a professional, positive attitude, and work ethic.
• Excellent interpersonal skills required and the ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse individuals during a time of crisis and distress.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Critical thinking and sound judgment required
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
• Proficiency with computers and
• Technology requirements: PC with Windows 10, Antivirus Protection: Windows Defender and Windows Firewall; or Mac with Apple OS X10.13, Antivirus Protection: Sophos and personal mobile device to use for this job. A headset is preferred.
