KEO Marketing CEO Sheila Kloefkorn awarded Unity Agent honor by ONE Community

ONE Community announces 2019 Spotlight on Success Honoree Sheila Kloefkorn

ONE Community, the coalition of socially responsible businesses, organizations and individuals advancing diversity, inclusion and equality for all Arizonans, is proud to announce the 2019 Honorees for the ninth annual Spotlight on Success Awards to be held on October 25, 2019 at the Sheraton Grand Phoenix.

Presented by PetSmart, this year’s Unity Agent honor is awarded to Sheila Kloefkorn, President and CEO of KEO Marketing, a full-service, business-to-business marketing agency in Phoenix. Sheila has dedicated her life’s work to building a more equitable world that provides opportunity for all. She is an outspoken leader for equality. She led Arizona’s Freedom to Marry Coalition, co-founded Competitive Arizona which took on LGBTQ non-discrimination, served on the National Board of Directors of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and the local boards of ONE Community, and Equality Arizona, and chaired the Center for LGBTQ Philanthropy at the Arizona Community Foundation.  Sheila and her wife Sue were one of the first same-sex couples to be lawfully wed in Arizona at ONE Community’s Spotlight event, when the state’s same-sex marriage ban was overturned on October 17, 2014. 

This year’s Local Heroes honorees come from a diverse cross-section of our community, but what they all have in common is their dedication to ensuring Arizona celebrates, respects and protects all who live and work in our great state:

• Glenn Kaspryzk – Regional Chief Operations Officer for American Medical Response (AMR)
• Marty Manning – Host and producer, iHeart Media (retired)
• Devney Preuss – President & CEO, Downtown Phoenix Inc.
• Nonnie L. Shivers – Shareholder, Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C.

“We are privileged to have the opportunity to honor and recognize leaders from across the community who have worked to ensure Arizona is a place that celebrates, respect’s and protect all of us equally,” said Angela Hughey, President and Co-Founder of ONE Community and ONE Community Foundation. “All of our honorees hold the same core belief that diversity and inclusion greatly benefit our state and enhance the quality of life for all of us,” concluded Hughey.
