Join us for an free exciting and informative event!

You are cordially invited to the New York IBM Z Customer Council; a community built to strengthen and support New York IBM Z clients. As we understand your challenges, we will share experiences, deliver expert guidance, and provide a network of executives focused on the success of your IBM Z system environments.

We’ll kick off the morning with Brendon Walker, who will summarize of all of the latest new to Z announcements from IBM and will discuss how these announcements relate to your Z environment.

Then, Dan Wiegand will discuss Proactive IT Operations with Watson Machine Learning. System outages cost enterprises more than $1 billion every year. To meet the business challenges of delivering services in today’s digital economy, IT operations can no longer simply monitor and react to situations in a war room. Learn how IBM is making enterprises successful in adopting new AI capabilities to better understand their environments and proactively identify issues in advance of their occurrence.

Following, Matt Whitbourne, Program Director and Offering Lead for IBM Z Hardware, will discuss how the strategy and execution of the Z Hardware platform is formulated by working with clients around the world to ensure that the next Z platform solution is able to meet market needs and deliver differentiated value as clients continue their journey to hybrid and multi cloud.

Rounding out our day with Emily Farmer, Alex Feinberg, and Mark Moore, they will cover the IT Economics Linux on IBM Z. In this half-day workshop, they present IBM’s strategy for digital transformation and commitment to hybrid cloud and multi-cloud.  They then build on the proven qualities of the IBM Z platform – superior performance, resiliency, and security – by expanding the conversation to include Linux and container technology.  They present the technical and competitive advantages of running Linux and containers on Z compared to commodity servers, for traditional business workloads (e.g., core banking) but also for transformational workloads (e.g., cloud-native) running in a hybrid multi-cloud environment.

The workshop is designed for IT managers and architects who are in a position to help influence infrastructure decisions for their business, and who are looking to exploit one of the best possible platforms on which to run enterprise Linux applications of today and tomorrow. Come learn about IBM’s Linux and Cloud strategy, and how IBM Z running Linux will help you transform your business and generate greater value.
