COACHING HIGHLIGHTS
  • Served as defensive coordinator during the 2022 season.
  • Boasts two decades of coaching experience on the FBS, FCS, Division III, NAIA and high school levels. 
  • Key member of a UH staff that helped guide the Rainbow Warriors to a program-record four straight bowl bids. 
  • Helped mold an aggressive Warrior defense that led the Mountain West with 17 takeaways during the 2020 season and tied a school record in 2021 with five defensive touchdowns.
  • Part of a stellar 2019 season in which the team captured a Mountain West division title, claimed the Hawaii Bowl and finished the year with 10 wins.
  • Has mentored a number of feared tacklers, including Cincinnati Bengals safety Trayvon Henderson, two-time all-conference edge rusher Kaimana Padello, and two-time first-team all-MW linebacker and Polynesian Hall of Fame Player of the Year finalist Darius Muasau.
  • Prior to UH coached at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, Calif., where  he helped guide the Mustangs to a spot in the 2016 NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision Playoffs.
  • Spent five seasons (2010-14) at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore., as defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. In 2013, his defense ranked fifth among NCAA Division III teams in sacks and 28th in tackles-for-loss and limited opponents to just 19.6 points per game.
  • During final season at Pacific, assumed the title of assistant head coach and was also recruiting coordinator for the Boxers for his last three seasons.
  • Was a defensive assistant for five seasons (2003-07) at his alma mater, Saint Louis School, including three seasons as the defensive coordinator. During his five years there, the Crusaders advanced to the state finals three times.

PLAYING HIGHLIGHTS

  • Played collegiately at the University of Montana, where his teams advanced to the FCS playoffs in 1998 and ‘99, before an injury derailed his career.
  • An all-state linebacker at Saint Louis School, where he played under legendary high school coach and former UH assistant Cal Lee.
