Tulane University protects our business travelers and expatriates by partnering with Global Rescue, the premier provider of medical, security, intelligence, and evacuation services worldwide. Business Travelers include employees on university business and students on university sponsored study abroad programs.

If you become ill or injured while traveling greater than 100 miles from your home address and require inpatient hospitalization, Global Rescue will evacuate you to the nearest healthcare facility until sufficiently stabilized to be evacuated back to a home hospital of your choosing. For security issues and natural disasters, Global Rescue will evacuate you to the nearest safe place. Their operations teams deploy worldwide, even to the most remote regions.

NOTE: This is an assistance program, NOT health insurance and does not cover medical expenses. Check your health insurance provider to determine how they support your international healthcare prior to departure.

Help is only a phone call away

  • If you are traveling and have an emergency, simply call into Global Rescue's Operations Centers +1 617.459.4200.
  • Provide your name, identify yourself as a Tulane University employee or student, and relay information about your emergency.
  • On the Global Rescue-GRID Mobile App, use your "Emergency" button feature or "Contact Global Rescue" feature. Your GPS coordinates provides your location to Global Rescue and allows you to "Check In".
  • Global Rescue's specialists will immediately begin working on your case.

Who is on the other end of the phone?

  • Global Rescue's Operation Center is staffed with critical care paramedics for medical emergencies and in-house experienced military special operations veterans for security issues.
  • Our medical specialists have the training and experience to triage symptoms immediately over the phone
