2019-20 (Senior)
Antonopoulos had a solid start to his senior season, going 4-5 in singles in the fall. He advanced to the round of 16 at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships, defeating his opponents in straight sets. In the spring, he earned an overall singles record of 3-5, with two wins on court three. In doubles, Antonopoulos and Christian Lakoseljac continued their success, going 6-2 at the top lineup spot. The pair achieved a season-high ITA doubles ranking of No. 29. Spring season shortened due to COVID-19 pandemic.
2018-19 (Junior)
Antonopoulos finished his junior season with an overall 18-15 singles record and 18-11 doubles record. He started off his fall season going 3-2 in singles. He advanced to the round of 32 at the ITA Atlantic Regionals, defeating opponents in straight sets. In doubles, Antonopoulos earned a win over Purdue at the Big Ten Indoor Championships when paired with Christian Lakoseljac. In the spring, he played at the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5 singles spots, and gained six conference wins as well. Paired with Lakoseljac in doubles play, the duo earned a 12-5 record at the No. 3 slot and a 3-1 record at No. 1. They also went 7-2 in Big Ten competition and won their last nine matches of the spring season.
2017-18 (Sophomore)
Christos had a successful season posting a 6-3 singles record and 4-3 doubles record. At the ITA All-Americans, he advanced to the second round of the pre-qualifying draw. Christos’ biggest success of the fall season was advancing to the semi-finals of the main draw at the ITA Regionals. Also at the ITA Regionals, Christos and doubles partner Alp Sentay advanced to the doubles main draw semifinals. In the spring, Christos and Alp continued their success, posting an 11-9 record. The dynamic duo also defeated Big Ten rival, No. 46 Indiana. In singles, Christos recorded an 11-12 record, earning wins over conference opponents, No. 8 Michigan and No. 50 Wisconsin.
2016-17 (Freshman)
Christos Antonopoulos came onto the team in January at the start of the second semester. He posted a strong 13-10 singles record overall and maintained the No. 3 and 4 singles positions all season. Christos also had a solid 15-8 doubles season. Playing at the No. 1, 2 and 3 doubles spots, Christos finished 10-5 at the No. 2 position. Paired with David Kohan, the two defeated #16 Michigan in doubles during the spring season. The duo of Antonopoulos and Kohan finished the season 11-5 and finished the last ten matches 7-3.
Before Penn State
Christos Antonopoulos, from Athens, Greece began his tennis career at the age of five. Antonopoulos was active most of his life, playing basketball, running track and skiing until focusing primarily on tennis. A member of the Keratsini Tennis Club where his father was the coach, Christos played at the number one spot in addition to achieving multiple rankings and honors throughout his career. A member of the Greece Junior National Teams from 2012-2016, Christos achieved an ITF Junior ranking of 170. He won six tournaments as a part of the ITF under 18. His highest ranking in the under 16 Europe rankings was No. 25. Antonopoulos was a part of the Davis Cup as a member of the men’s national team in 2015 and 2016 before earning an ATP world ranking of No. 1320.
