Center for Pan Asian Community Services, Inc. (CPACS) is a private nonprofit located in Atlanta, Georgia. Our mission is to promote self-sufficiency and equity for immigrants, refugees, and the underprivileged through comprehensive health and social services, capacity building, and advocacy.
 
Job Summary: 
Career service advisor will provide counseling to participants or groups to prepare them for a career. He or she is to implement these services in assisting participants to overcome their barriers by creating an individual service plan, twice a month face to face meetings, and ensuring participants stays on career path to accomplish their goals. Career service advisor will be responsible to provide proper documentation for all services that have been provided and are to be entered properly into our VOS tracking system in a timely manner.
  
Responsibilities
1.      Advise participants on career and employment options, program requirements and possible employment outcomes after services.
2.     Conduct career exploration activities and assist clients with career decision-making. This may include working in small groups and use of all resources in the media library.
3.     Maintain current information on the labor market, legislation, and professional and academic developments by participating in training events sponsored by educational and professional bodies.
4.     Report, track and enter client activities on required WIOA forms on the Georgia Workforce System and other approved ARWDB/ARC approved client tracking systems. This includes completing client case notes and documentation of services provided.
5.     Completed application and referral forms; gather eligibility documentation from applicants.
6.     May administer and interpret assessment devices to make recommendations for services and possible employment opportunities. Determine appropriate assessment methods for clients.
7.     Knowledgeable in use of all resources available for clients, including services available through DFCS, HUD, and employment resources on-site and throughout the community. This may include use of resources in the career lab and library, career exploration and job placements through the Internet: and ability to facilitate their use with clients.
8.    Issue vouchers and establish individual training accounts funded by WIOA including the recording of planned training and support services in the VOS Tracking System.
 
9.     Other duties as assigned
 
Preferences
1.                  Excellent communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken English
2.                 Proven success in achieving goals and working effectively with all levels of staff in a team environment
3.                 Must be comfortable working in a multicultural environment and able to communicate effectively with limited English speakers
4.                 Computer literacy required, particularly proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
 
Requirements
1.                  High school diploma or equivalent
2.                 US work authorization required
3.                 Responds to inquiries in a timely and professional manner
4.                 Ability to organize a daily workload by priorities.
5.                 Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment.
6.                 A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
