Presenter: Dr. David Costello, author of Using What Works: Strategies for Developing a Literacy-Rich Environment in Math
We know that the 2020-2021 school year may look different. Currently, there are three options being discussed: face-to-face, blended, and online. Given this uncertainty, David has crafted a session that will assist teachers in planning meaningful instruction to support student understanding of mathematical concepts in any of the possible instructional and learning models. Within this session, David will discuss three main points: (1) Planning for the Instructional Model, (2) Scheduling and Delivering the Plan, and, (3) Working Through Stumbling Blocks. During this online session, David will explore effective and efficient strategies that can be applied manageably by all those involved. While content will focus on K-8, David's examples can be applied throughout the K-12 system.
