South Korea reported 34 new coronavirus cases Sunday — its highest daily figure in a month — after a new outbreak that originated in several nightclubs. Seoul shut down all bars and nightclubs indefinitely in response. President Moon Jae-in said Sunday that despite its early success in curbing the outbreak, South Korea was facing a “prolonged war.”
President Moon Jae-in: “It will be a long time before the COVID-19 outbreak ends completely. We should also brace for the pandemic’s second wave, which many experts are predicting.”
China is also reporting new coronavirus cases, sparking fears of a second wave of the outbreak. Authorities reported 17 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday, including five in Wuhan.
