Graham Neff and Steve Duzan Join Clemson Athletic Department Staff

CLEMSON, SC – The Clemson Athletic Department has added Graham Neff and Steve Duzan to its staff, announced Director of Athletics Dan Radakovich on Tuesday.  Neff serves as the department’s Associate Athletic Director for Business Operations and CFO, while Duzan joins the staff as the Associate Athletic Director for Athletic Academic Services.

Neff and Duzan replace Katie Hill and Rebecca Bowman, both of whom are retiring this spring.

Neff, who began work March 11, came to Clemson from Middle Tennessee State University, where he served as Associate Athletic Director since 2010.  During his time at Middle Tennessee, Neff was responsible for the athletic department’s finances and internal operations, including budgeting, financial planning, departmental contracts and support unit supervision.  He also oversaw facilities and capital projects, and served as sport supervisor for baseball and men’s and women’s track and field.

Prior to his time at Middle Tennessee, Neff spent two years at Georgia Tech as Financial Controller and Assistant Director of Ticket Operations.  He previously spent two years with the accounting firm Deloitte & Touche, LLP in the Financial Valuation group.

Neff earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Georgia Tech in 2006 and served as head manager for the men’s basketball team, advancing to the NCAA Final Four in 2004.  He completed an MBA in finance, also from Georgia Tech, in 2010.

Duzan, who began work April 1, joined the Clemson staff after spending two years at Florida State, most recently as the university’s Assistant Athletics Director/Director of Student-Athlete Academic Services.  His responsibilities included implementing and monitoring all educational services for student-athletes to ensure NCAA compliance and institutional policy.  He supervised all of the department’s academic advisors, learning specialists, tutors, mentors, graduate assistants and interns.

While at Florida State, Duzan collaborated with the University’s Admissions Department regarding admissions and eligibility of student-athletes and monitored the NCAA eligibility certification process, reports and degree audits for the NCAA and ACC.  He served on several committees, including the University’s Athletic Review Committee, Enrollment Management Committee and Committee of Infractions.

Prior to his time in Tallahassee, Duzan spent three and a half years as the Director of Athletic Academic Services at Indiana State University, where he was responsible for all academic programming and student development for student-athletes.  He also spent eight years at Marshall High School in Marshall, IL, including two years as the school’s Principal/Dean of Students/Athletic Director.

Duzan earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Millikin University in Decatur, IL in 1999.  In 2006, he earned a master’s degree in educational administration from Eastern Illinois.  He recently completed coursework in the doctoral program in educational leadership at Indiana State, and has an anticipated graduation date of May 2014.
