NEW YORK TIMES BEST SELLING AUTHOR OF UGLY AND MISTRUST

**Write something worth reading**

I'm Margaret and I'm a self-published author.
Recently I was fortunate in obtaining New York Times best selling status on my YA/NA book - Ugly, and my YA book - Mistrust.

My last three books have been YA and I'm completely in love with the genre. I love being able to communicate with people through my words and stories.

My writing genres all differ, but the one thing I keep consistent is my heroines. All my female lead characters are strong, gutsy and not the 'perfect' woman. While my books all have romantic elements in them, they aren't just about the romance. They're about finding strength, acceptance and making life long connections.

I hope you enjoy my stories as much as I have while writing them.

A moving tale 0f a girl who screamed long time ago in torture but is still suffering the echoes of it's memories till now. Molly Dawson is a sensitive and sensible girl, living in a loving home with lovely family. Her sister Tina is her best friend. Life is full of banter, laughter and boy gossip. A typical teenage life......
Until a discolored bunny visits her and she is terrorized.
"From the moment I can remember, all I’ve ever been is nothing. Nothing at all. Not a person, not a child, not a God damned thing."

description

I don't know how to describe you this story without giving anything away, so just jump in blind and just let this incredible book envelope you.
Margaret is quite practiced at penning stories that deal with twists and traumas of the mind. They make you think, question the reality and shed light on social & moral evils.
This story takes you a step further into the recesses and layers of the scarred psyche.
“It wasn’t your fault.”
“What if...”
“Nope. Stop right there. There’s no other version of that statement. It was not your fault.”
“But...”
“No.” She shuts me down again. “It was not your fault.”

description

I had a lump in my throat reading it. Molly was MY friend, and seeing her happy with Dylan made ME happy. But when she shed tears, it pained MY heart. This connection with characters is an achievement on Margaret's part as an "alive" writer. Pain jumped from the pages and bled through my veins.
This story shall remain with me for a long time to come as I'm sure it will with you when you read it

This story has some heavy topics, murder, sexual abuse of a child and dissociative identity disorder.

But before these were introduced I knew this story wasn’t working for me.

It’s kind of slow and I was skimming early on.

But the main problem is the dialogue of all the characters. The conversations came across very corny and juvenile. When you are dealing with heavy topics, the last thing you want to read is cringeworthy dialogue.

It could have been a great read but it was not executed properly. There was just something missing to make this stand out.

Powerful Coming of Age Story
*arc generously provided by the promo team in exchange for an honest review*

What’s this book about? (I'm trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
After a rough past, she seemingly has it all. Her family, her best friend who is also her sister, her new boyfriend and her animals make her life a happy one. Until one event changes everything. Until she is confronted with the demons of her past.

This is my first Margaret McHeyzer read and it was a powerful one. It was emotionally loaded, that’s for sure. I was intrigued when I read the blurb. This is described as a NA/Dark College Romance, but it’s not the usual. I’d actually describe it as a mystery and thriller, too. The drama was ever-present. What a tumultuous book! It was definitely dark and to me it felt like a coming of age story. This was a fast-paced and emotional read. There were moments that were so heart-breaking, I can’t even deal. The lead showed a lot of strength and audacity to stand for what she deemed was right. At the same time, she was very defensive about her age, being an 18-year-old and all, so that’s why I see this as a coming of age rather than a New Adult (I see these two as different categories). I loved her despite her easily offended nature and I truly rooted for her. When we initially meet Dylan, I didn’t like him very much. He seemed pretentious and there was something about him that made me feel like he was super secretive. However, over the duration of the novel, he grew on me.
The final half of the book was by far my favorite.
I recommend this to readers who want to read about a tortured lead with a mysterious past, a loving family, and a dramatic plot that keeps you on your toes.

I went into this book blind and not reading reviews before I read it and I am so glad that I did. This was a book like none that I've read. It was definitely different from my norm that's for sure.
I was captivated from the beginning because I wasn't sure where this book was leading us to. So glad I stuck with it. I so enjoyed this book. Just to let you know it was brilliantly done.
Do I recommend this book? Yes I do.

This was the first time I’ve ever read a story by this author and I was not disappointed. This book was extremely emotional and it just wrapped you in wanting to find out what’s next. Molly was amazing and Dylan was the most perfect boyfriend ever. When things went south she tried pushing him away but he was not having it. He stayed with her and held her hand the entire time. This is a book that I went in blind not knowing what to expect and I loved it. It’s one of those books that you’re glad you don’t read spoilers and get surprised with.

An emotional read about a topic I have very little knowledge of. Echoes of You was a fast paced story that delved deep into the impact childhood trauma can have on a person.

Molly and her sister Tina were both adopted into a loving, stable family at a young age. Now at the age of 18, on the cusp of adulthood and both entering new relationships, life is looking good. When tragedy strikes, it opens old wounds and Molly has to slowly come to terms with the demons of her past and what it means for her future.

This was not an easy book to read due to the topic, but interesting none the less. 🖤

Echoes of You by Margaret McHeyzer
Molly was adopted at the age of seven by a wonderful and loving family. She gained a best friend, in her adopted sister, Tina. They had a close bond and were inseparable until Tina’s new boyfriend had other ideas. Growing up and becoming adults and finding boyfriends were new for both of them. Molly’s boyfriend, Dylan, was older but idolized her. Tina’s boyfriend seemed odd and Molly and her dog were not happy with him. Tragedy strikes the family and Molly’s demons and inner echoes of the past come out. Is she strong enough to delve back into the past and finally deal with everything? Will Dylan still idolize her when the truth comes out? And will this family ever heal from the hurt they have endured? Once again Ms. McHeyzer has blown me away with a unique and mind-blowing story. Her writing flows, the suspense intrigues you and challenges you. The characters were brilliant, believable and the empathy you feel for each of them will leave you in tears at times. My only criticism was that I would like to have seen the intimate part of Dylan and Molly play out more. However other than that I thought this was a fantastic story and commend the author on her research into a subject that I knew very little about. I highly recommend this book and Kudu’s to Ms. McHeyzer.

What a read!
This is the first book I have read by Margaret McHeyzer and it definitely won’t be my last.
I didn’t know when I started what I was getting into and it took me a bit to get what was happening, but when I did I couldn’t put it down. Gripping and intense, Echoes of You has you questioning what is actually normal and what isn’t. It makes you sit back and rethink what you’ve always considered as a normal way of life.
This book has a very good storyline and it hooked me in.

Contemporary Romance, New Adult, Dark, psychological

First Person, Multiple-POV

This is a stand-alone story with HEA.

But it took me no time at all to realize, we all have a role to play.

by Molly

Wow!!! Astonishing!!!

I don't really know what I was expecting when I read the blurb and decided to read this book. What I'm certain of... I wasn't expecting anything like what I got here.

This wasn't an easy read, it was a very emotional story that could be a trigger for some people. I loved it! This story has been stuck on my brain for almost a week now.

I feel like I can't say much, because you must embark in this journey with open heart and no real knowledge of what is to come. This is a story that must be felt and not told. All I can say is, YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK! Yeah, it will hurt a little, and it will probably make you cry (if you are anything like me) but it will also give you hope and make you believe in the complexity that is a human being.

Beautiful romance in an astounding story!!!

34/35 STARS –  5 STARS (between 33.5 stars and 35 stars)

Addictiveness: 5 Character: 5 Cover: 4.5 Freshness: 5 Plot: 5 Romance: 4.5 Writing Style: 5

Action 2/5 Angst 5/5 Darkness 3.5/5 Humor 0/5 Romance 5/5 Suspense/Mystery 2/5

Would I recommend? YES!!!!!!!!!

Would I re-read this book/series? Yes, even though it is a hard read, very emotional and can be a trigger for some.

Would I read more from the author? I will definitely be on the lookout for her work from now on.

Addictiveness: 5/5 This story was so emotional, with characters that felt so real, that it grabbed my attention from the beginning and I was barely able to sleep until I had finished the book. As addictive as chocolate!!!

Character: hero 5/5, heroine 5/5, secondary characters 5/5, growth 5/5, real 5/5 Multidimensional characters with lots of depth and very well written background stories.

Molly was amazing. She was very strong and passionate about what she believed in. Her story arch was impeccably written and her personal growth was enormous.

Dylan was an almost perfect boyfriend. He was a true hero without a cape. In a time with lots of bully romance out there (a trope that I also love), it is great to read about a really good guy with a good head on his shoulder that can also be a wonderful son and boyfriend.

Secondary characters I love them all so much. There were so many amazing characters in this book. They have all been very well developed that the reader could truly admire them. They all felt real. There was so much good parenting here between Dylan's dad and Molly's mother and father. Wow!

Villain/antagonists ... there were a few of those in this story. Like all other characters they were well written.

Most characters were easy to love, connect and understand!!!

Cover: art 4.5/5, title 5/5, color-font 5/5, buy 5/5  I’m obsessed with book covers. I love to find snippets of the stories within the art. I love this one. So many things really worked here. Starting with the title and subtitle used. They are a perfect fit for this story. The somber mood is very noticeable by the black and white colors of the art and the face and posture of the girl. I also love how the title font "echoes". Intriguing art with catching title!! I would definitely buy this book by its cover without needing to read the blurb!!!

Freshness: 5/5 One-of-a-kind!!! I don't need to say anything else here. As fresh as water during summer in the middle of the desert.

Plot: believable 5/5, conflict 5/5, dialogue 5/5, ending 5/5, enjoyment 5/5, opening 5/5, pace 5/5, setting 5/5, subplots 5/5, twists 5/5  Amazing opening and superb ending. Very believable plot, with fascinating dialogues and stunning pace. Great setting, interesting subplots with huge twists. Highest level of enjoyment!

This plot was cohesive without any loose ends and very creative. The author filled the story with several twists and turns from the beginning that kept the reader out of balance and in awe.

Romance: believable 5/5, chemistry 4/5, description 3.5/5, development 5/5, steam 3/5  The story arch of their romance was really well planned. It never felt rushed. At the same time I wished we had a bit more description of their moments together. I would like to feel them more intimate with each other, sometimes it didn't feel very real people of that age being that reserved. But the love story was beautiful and poignant. Perfect book boyfriend points for Dylan!!! Beautiful romance!!!

Writing Style: 5/5  Superb characters, unexpected plot, beautiful romance, cohesive writing and wonderfully written dialogues. Words of a wordsmith!

Because I try to be very analytical and I don't really like perfection...

I have to say I would love a bit of Dylan's voice and also the romance could be a bit more descriptive.

You MAY read this because you follow the author; you SHOULD read this because you like emotional stories; you MUST read this because the plot is unanticipated and unforeseen!!!

Echoes of You - Margaret McHeyzer
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Five stars just wasn’t enough.

I always struggle to write a review after reading a Margaret McHeyzer book...... mainly because she completely shatters me...... but in the best of ways.

Every emotion is dragged out of me, and every tissue in the house is used and discarded.... leaving me to ponder just how to put into words the depths of emotions felt about her latest book.

Echoes of You is, without a doubt, Margaret at her utmost best.

I willingly entered into reading Echoes of You, knowing what was coming.... knowing I would be emotionally drained but still needing to read all the words.

I can’t compose words to recommend this book more highly to any reader who wants to fall down the rabbit hole of a book that will absorb you and completely own your emotions.

No spoilers here as you can see because, you deserve to read this wonderful book with a clear mind and an open heart.

Love love loved Echoes of You. Thank you Margaret McHeyzer.

This book is so well written you just inhale the words, So many times I wanted to jump into this book to hold Molly's hand.

Such a heart-breaking but beautiful story at the same time. This is One of my top 5 reads for this year

Margaret McHeyzer is an author that they write, I read. No questions asked.

I read this blurb awhile ago and was immediately drawn into what this book could possibly be about. A very intriguing blurb, I must say! This book didn't disappoint. I believe that it's the first of this story line that I've read.

The best advice I can give is, go in blind. Don't read reviews...because this book is full of twists and turns. Page turning at times and a very emotional journey.

This story was incredible and inspiring and so intriguing! I love books that start off like this! I had no idea where the story was going but I HAD TO FIND OUT! Just wow. It was so heavy and light and funny and scary and sad and heart breaking and gut clenching and eye opening all at the same time. I felt for the characters in this book. ALL OF THEM. How remarkable.
This book and this author deserve all 5 stars for this story. It was great and I can’t remember the last time I had a book hangover like this... just amazing!

Echoes of You
is a Dark New Adult standalone book about Molly and her memories from the past.

When I started reading part 1 of Echoes of You, I didn’t understand anything, it was really confusing. I even thought of DNF’ing this book because I just couldn’t connect to the characters. But then I started reading part 2… I couldn’t put this book down because I had to know what was going to happen to the characters and I wanted an explanation for part 1. And I got it…

I felt so many different emotions while reading Echoes of You. Molly has been through so much and had such a difficult time when she was younger. Without spoiling anything, you will be surprised by everything that happens in this book. I’ve also never read anything about what Molly has, so it was really interesting to read about her.

I think that Echoes of You is such a good book and there were some times that I had tears in my eyes. This book was such an emotional rollercoaster and I think that everyone needs to read this one. Echoes of You was a heartbreaking story and I know I will think about this book for a long time.

This is my first time reading and review a Margaret McHeyzer book.

This is a beautiful emotional story, I cried most of the book because of all the things Molly had to overcome, of what she discovers from her past and her present.

This book treats themes of mental health issues and if anyone knows me, mental health is one of my absolute favorite things to talk about. I love to read of how people cope with mental health problems, search for help, overcome past traumas and especially this type of disorder, it has always fascinated me. Can’t say much because I would be giving out the whole book.

Molly is a beautiful person, she was adopted when she was seven years old and since then she has had a beautiful life with wonderful parents and one sister that was adopted as well, they both are the same age and when their eighteenth birthday comes along a lot of things begin to change, awful things happen and Molly begins to remember her past, but with a great support system she begins to heal.

I’m giving it four stars because there were like one or two scenes that seem to long and I didn’t see a point in them but that is just my opinion, but other than that the it was a great story with beautiful characters.

When my ARC of Echoes of You arrived on my kindle, I knew four things:

1. I needed to clear my schedule to race through all 489 pages of this book (because I wanted to read it straight away!).
2. I was going to cry. (Mcheyzer always makes me cry).
3. I was going to have the mother of all book hangovers when I finished this book.
4. I needed tissues and all the comfort food I could handle for the evitable fallout that was coming my way.

In case you were wondering, I was correct on all points.

Margaret McHeyzer is a GOD among mortals when it comes to hard-hitting contemporary novels. So, if you are anything like me – an emotional reader – I highly suggest you prepare, because you are in for one hell of a ride with Echoes of You. (I ran out of chocolate before the books end. Don’t be like me. )

Echoes of You is not an easy read, and because of that, this book isn’t going to appeal to everyone. It is, however, a powerful book; full of emotion, pain, suffering, and glimpses of hope. It’s a book about family, trust and the decisions we make. It’s a book you need to EXPERIENCE to understand it’s value, heart and soul. For that reason, I can’t really talk in detail about the narrative itself. Except to say, do your self a favour and read this book!

While the subject matter dealt with in Echoes of You is heavy, Mcheyzer has cleverly crafted a sophisticated and sincere novel that speaks to the heart. The characters, the situations and the outcomes are all treated sensitively. You feel their pain, insecurity and confusion. You yearn for their happy ever after and you swear at McHeyzer and some of the characters for doing what they do!

Although this book has a large page count, every one of those 489 pages flies by. With the use of a provoking prologue, followed by compelling characters that inspire you to reach through the page to look after them, McHeyzer’s characters suck you in real fast. You want, no NEED to know what is happening and race to reveal the twists and turns of McHeyzer’s story. So much so, that I read this book in pretty much two sittings over the course of two days. The story is just so compelling and the writing clever, that you won’t want to put it down for long.

Reading a Margaret McHeyzer book is always a unique experience, this holds especially true when it comes to this particular book, Echoes of You. I do highly recommend this book, but I also wish to warn people that need trigger warnings, that this book is not going to be for you. It’s rough, it’s real life, but it’s brilliant.

Molly is an 18-year-old girl who, despite a bad past, has a pretty great life: loving adoptive parents, an adopted sister who is her best friend, a nice job as a yoga instructor and an exciting future.

One day she meets a very attractive guy in a café and after a brief flirting, they both meet again at a family dinner. Molly hadn’t thought about getting into a relationship, but Dylan’s attitude leads her to say yes to a date.

As her romance with Dylan begins, Molly’s life changes from being great to a real tragedy that affects her family and herself, which leads her to face some secrets she had kept. What happens next? Oh, we’ll see.

MY IMPRESSIONS
But, I can’t tell you much about it because anything I tell you could be a spoiler. And I promise you, it’s best if you go into Echoes of You with your eyes super closed.
I requested this book because I found the synopsis interesting and because it’s Margaret McHeyzer, c’mon. Whatever Margaret writes is intense for the sake of it. That’s exactly what I got from the pages of Echoes of You, but also much more. It’s a story about a topic that is rarely seen in contemporary fiction, you can tell that she researched it very well, that she knew how to capture it in her pages and take us from mystery to mystery until she presented it in its complete form.

“I couldn’t leave without showing you how much you mean to me.”

“I don’t want to go,” I whisper.

“Molly, you change the aire I breathe.” He kisses my forehead. “But I have to go.” He quickly turns, and leaves, this time, not stopping until he gets to his car. He doesn’t even look back. Probably because he knows if he does, he won’t leave.

Congratulations to McHeyzer for an excellent performance as a writer. What do you expect? Go with your eyes closed and immerse yourself in Molly’s story. You won’t regret it.

✯✯5 Echo Filled Stars!!! ✯✯

I’m bowing down to Margaret McHeyzer again!! Whenever I finish a book by her I’m blown away all over again. Whenever I finish a book by her I say it’s my new favorite book by her and then she releases another book and I’m saying it all over again lol. Echoes of You was no different then all her other books.

I can sit here and write a nice lengthy review and you’ll know everything. But, I’d hate to give everything away. I was on a crazy ride of emotions from the first sentence to the last.

The prologue made my heart break. Then part one started and my heart was pounding bc you’re introduced to three characters that all have a role to play and that role made my stomach turn upside down and inside out every page.

At part two we met Molly. She was adopted at seven years old to two amazing loving parents. Her sister Tina was adopted as well and they’re the same age and share the same birthday. They’ve been best friends and sisters since the day they brought Molly home. Their family was extremely close and none of them ever thought that would change. But, they always say never say never.

The girls are graduating high school and turning 18. Tina starts dating a guy and when Molly meets Dylan, Tina pushes for a double date. When Molly meets Tina’s boyfriend instantly the hairs on her arms raise. Molly doesn’t get a good vibe of him but Tina won’t hear about it.

Dylan is a little older then Molly but he’s legit an amazing guy!!! Talk about the perfect guy.

I kept waiting for Dylan to pull the rug out from below me bc nobody is that amazing.

When tragedy hits Molly’s family it hit not only rained but poured. Bc, Molly’s demons decided that moment to return to the surface and blindside everybody close to her.

At the end of the day the people closest to her will standby her side but the one person that can help Molly get past what she’s going thru is Molly herself.

I read this book so quick I’m not sure I remember breathing when I read it. That’s how good it was. I hardly looked up from my kindle.

This book definitely can trigger some people if you have triggers. There’s both physical abuse and mental health issues that Molly and her family have to deal with.

Margaret writes stories that are 110% real life for a lot of people in the world today. And, story after story that Margaret publishes she writes them all beautifully. Even though some or multiple parts of a book might be hard to read but believe me Margaret has 1000% done her research for every single subject that she puts down on paper. Echoes of You was no different. I’m really, really looking forward to her next release.

It’s with a simplistic beauty that the words flow from this authors pen to paper. The most difficult stories seem to be this authors gift to us all. I haven’t picked up a book by her and not been forced to pondered the struggles that affect others and feel I have a new appreciation for the trials so many face. The one thing that I absolutely appreciated was the beautiful with which this author described adoption. So many times adoption is portrayed dark and sinister. This story brought a realistic light on the life of an adoption family. I am adopted and had a wonderful childhood and have a family that loves me so hard. My daughter is adopted and we are the luckiest parents to have had the gift to make her ours. So thank you Margaret McHeyzer for writing this with such exceptional beauty. I won’t go into the details of this story because I didn’t really understand the true depth of this book until I was about half way. I usually have things somewhat figured out, but as with this authors stories they build and build while you aren’t looking. This story is not an easy read. It tackles hard situations and it takes you to a place that we all know exists, but are hard to delve into. So the next book you think about picking up should be this one. This book is my favorite of 2020. It will Make you think, it will make you hurt and yes it will make you cry. The brilliance of this story isn’t the darkness but the love and expectance we receive from one another. This is a love story and a story of survival. Exceptionally beautiful!!

This book deserves a 5+ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
I started the book with no idea whatsoever about the plot or anything, the blurb was vague but intriguing enough.

You know some stories just stick with you, it can be the first novel you read or the first paperback you buy, etc. Similarly, Echoes of You is that kind of story. It's going to stay with me for a long long time. Here's my short review.:

▪️This was a new to me author.
▪️What started as a filler book between all the books I have to or I am reading quickly became so much more.
This book delivers a great story told with compassionate and strength. I was crying while reading some parts.
▪️This is a dark story and it has triggers of abuse(not explicitly described)
▪️I really liked how the author navigated with slowly exposing each layer to the story. It was both not enough and too much, which as a reader I found perfect to build your interest.
▪️I really can't say anything else without giving away spoilers or revealing part of the plot. Although, I can say that don't give up only reading 15% of the story. Hold on, you will definitely like the journey of Molly. ▪️This was an unexpected but amazing read.
I will always remember Molly.

Echoes of You was a powerful story that took everything out of me, yes, even a ton of tears which is hard to do. There are stories which I want to give details away, then there is this story that is better going in blind. Margaret McHeyzer is simply brilliant, and her stories never fail to stun me into silence in emotional awe, but this story was leveled up on the emotions because I bawled like a b*t*h baby. That's not to say that I didn't have other emotions, because rage was there, shock, horror, pain, and that crying. And yes I know that I've talked about that more than once, but seriously, I'm not a crier at all, even in my own life so that part is HUGE. I know this review is cryptic, trust me when I say that I'm not a descriptive genius which makes it impossible to convey what this story did to me, so just hit those one click buttons to experience it all for yourselves! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

Margaret's books have been on my TBR for some time but this is my first book by her and quite frankly I'm stunned. With a new author it always takes me awhile to get used to their writing style but this book was easy to read however the subject matter isn't infact at times it was too much and I needed a break.

The main character is Molly and she is fascinating. Molly has a good life with her adopted family who love her unconditionally and when she meets Dylan it seems like life couldn't get any better. All it takes is one memory for her life to shatter. I wouldn't call it a twist but the story goes in a direction I never saw coming but one that was written superbly. The love and support of her family and Dylan is the one thing that will give her the courage she will need.

This book is unlike any other one I've read and I commend the author for tackling this subject with compassion and understanding.

“ This is where part of me will die and another part of me will live.”

Well, I barely finished reading the prologue and my heart already fell. I knew prior to starting this that I was in for an emotional roller coaster because that’s how all books written by Margaret McHeyzer have been for me. BUT! I thought I’d at least get passed the prologue before I had that heart-dropping feeling. However, I was wrong. So very wrong and those moments never seemed to stop.

Echoes of You is written in two parts. The first part definitely had the heart dropping moments for me. Just thinking back on the story and Neve, gives me chills. I felt so horrible for her and yet she was so strong. When it came to part two of the story, I have to honestly say that I didn’t connect to it at first. Or maybe it was more that I didn’t connect very good with Molly. I’m not too sure what it was, but thankfully as time went on that connection got stronger and it all came together for me. I absolutely had tears in my eyes from time to time. Which, again, isn’t new when it comes to this amazing author!

I will say I really liked Dylan! He was so supportive when it came to Molly. The love and words of encouragement were everlasting..

“You can allow yourself to be vulnerable, Molly. You can allow yourself to love me back. If I wanted to run, I would’ve done that already. But I don’t. I never want to be anywhere without you.”

“You’re my better, Molly. You’re my everything.”

He really was a great guy. He said all the right things at all the right moments. Many men probably would of had a hard time dealing with the things that Molly went through, but for Dylan, his love never faulted and his love never died.

My very first book from the author, and I am now hook

Where have you been Ms. Margaret McHeyzer in my life? My very first book from the author and now I am hooked. This book is so emotional. It will rip your heart out. The best book I read this month.

The author's writing is beyond phenomenal. I experienced the same thing when I was a child. It is hard to trust someone especially your family and cousin. I almost cry but not with the difficult situation but with the animal. I have met the author in person, and she is down to earth and goofy. This book is one of a kind. Life gets better after the rainbow shows. We need to face so many storms but all I know is that the sun always shine.

I pulled this book into my Kindle yesterday as the cover and title intrigued me. I’m so glad that I did! This is a new author for me and if the rest of her work is as interesting as this story, I’ll be super excited. I was hooked during the first couple of chapters, but it took me a bit to figure out what was going on. There are a lot of moving parts in this story, and possibly a few triggers for readers that are sensitive to child abuse/domestic abuse; but once I started reading, I didn’t put it down. I’m usually fairly stingy with my ratings so this one getting a 5 out of me surprises even me.

This was a mind blowing story. At first I was completely confused yet intrigued and it only got better. Once everything is out the way it is all handled the support and the love she received not only from her family but from Dylan (I want someone like him in my corner). With moments to laugh at loud and drop some tears this author takes you on an emotional ride which touches on some sensitive areas all done well. Her story can't hep but touch you and draw you in whether in sympathy or just to see what happens next.

Echoes of You is Margaret McHeyzer’s newest emotionally raw standalone. I don’t even need to read the synopsis to know that I will be needing tissues and lots of snacks since I won’t be wanting to get off the couch. Once again, I was right. I read most of the book in one day and it’s not an easy or short read. I really can’t say much without spoiling the story so I will try to make it fast.

She was adopted at the age of seven and that was when she met her best friend and sister, Tina. They grew up in a loving household full of love, laughter, and a special bond. They even share a birthday and just turned eighteen. Family is everything. They even found men who could be the love of their lives. It was perfect until everything changed and now she is confused about everything from her past to her present. It was time for her to fight the demons of her past. Ones she didn’t even realize were there...

This story is not easy. This is not your typical romance. You will swoon but you will also be heartbroken. You will fall but you will also cry. It’s an unique type of love story. It’s not only about a couple. It’s about a family who needs to heal. I love that Margaret writes stories that need to be told. They make you think about the world around you. They make you want to help in ways you never thought of before.

Overall...its a beautifully written story that I will never forget. I cried. I laughed. I swooned. I got angry. I cried again. The characters are remarkably strong, beautiful, and sweet. Once I really started I didn’t want to put the book down. I had to know what was going to happen next with this family.

Quotes:

“There’s too much red around me.”

“We each have a role to play.”

“Pinky promise it is.” He holds his pinky out.
“You know, you can’t break a pinky promise.”
“I have no intention of foolishly violating something so sacred,” he teases.
