Raven Elliot blasts into town like a wrecking ball — striking and devastating.
With a few simple words, my reliable routine crumbles to dust.

“Is this seat taken?”

I could close my eyes and let her voice wrap around me like a lover’s caress.
But this isn’t that type of story.
And I’m sure as hell not that kind of man.

She hovers in my space, batting her lashes and smiling shyly.
The glimmer in her sapphire eyes is a promise of peace.
But I’m not falling for it.
And Raven doesn't take the hint.

What starts as a battle of wills, explodes into a turf war.
She stands directly in my path everywhere I turn.
No matter how hard I shove, she won’t budge.
Raven seems dead set on driving me insane.
But I was here first.
And I’m not going down easy.

After all, no one ever taught me how to treat a lady.

Not only is the cover smoking hot, but the content inside 100% flammable!! Gah, Trey's dirty mouth combined with Raven's adventurous spirit sure makes for some interesting sexy times! My kindle is still smoking from this one.

But putting aside the sexy content and a heroine who's DTF anywhere, this is Harloe Rae's best book to date! The writing, plot, and overall execution is superb. I enjoyed getting to know the main characters, but also got a kick out of the secondary characters. I'm shipping a few of them really hard and can't wait to see what the author does with their stories!

Here's what I loved: Trey is so no nonsense. He basically says whatever he thinks whether it's hurtful or not. He's crass and rude, but underneath the tough, dirty guy, he starts to soften. Raven changes everything for him when she moves to town. It's one of my favorites things about the book. You can see the character growth clearly. They each have past hurts and present issues, but are able to overcome them all and find their happy place.

Gent is a quick, fun, read that's sure to please. I Loved It!!

I’m not quite sure why I decided to read this or why I thought it would be good.
It wasn’t. Truly atrocious writing and asinine characters. I thought I was going to get this great heroine who was truly indifferent to the shit bag hero and yet, I get stuttering and blushing in the first chapter. And a drunk moaning and grinding girl in the second chapter. Gag me.

Heros thought process was disgusting. He needed to be punched in the face...or the dick. Heroine was exciting as a potato.

Don’t waste your time on this.

GENT Teaser 5
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️STARS
ARC BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-30/5/18

Harloe Rae was a new author for me so wasn't quite sure what to expect; So pleased to report that "Gent" was a very enjoyable endeavour indeed.
So first the characters portrayed here were in their early twenties; And while I usually prefer an older Hero as my go-to age choice; I also do enjoy the occasional New Adult book.
So this is an enemies to lovers romance.
The H Trey is a complete tool; like a major obnoxious, rude, opinionated man-whore with a ginormous chip on his shoulder.
The h Raven is his complete opposite in personality always willing to see the best in people.
Open, friendly and a complete sweetheart.
When Raven arrives in this small town after college to work at her friends business; Trey and Raven's paths collide with epic fallout.
From day one Trey makes it his mission in life to alienate Raven; while in return she tries to reach out to him; extending an olive branch.
Both have similar life experiences but have ultimately coped in completely different ways, and it was quite apparent from the start that Trey was hiding behind his gruff rude-boy persona.
A shield erected to protect his heart from future wounds.
So I loved this story; it was simplistic and fun; A sexy hot read with your classic misunderstood Hero.
This wasn't any major plot shocks here, and it was slightly predictable in places, but that really didn't bother me as what we do get is still a lovely warm read; that was so easy to get lost and swept up in.
It was told in dual POV and had the added bonus of a great supporting cast.
I can definitely see future stories emerging from there.
This also had a sweet and romantic HEA and is your classic Girl saves boy from himself.
So "Gent" was great; I found it to be a very positive experience and if you like New Adult Contemporary romances this one is definitely well written.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of "Gent" of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

HEA? Wouldn't you want to know!
Book Title: Perfect for this story!

5 Wrenched Stars!!!!

Trey is a certified A*Hole. From the first time we are introduced to him, his a*holery ways were getting me addicted. Raven is golden. She is ready to move to a place that she can escape too. She may bring out the worse in Trey, but she just can not stay away. These two have the Hate/Love kind of relationship. Trey is the most frustrating character. Believe me, it I was in their world, I would have stomped on his foot or kicked him lol. He was making life so difficult. I cussed him out too many times to count

Then you start to get the real and down right dirty Trey. He makes working on cars a bit X-rated. With the bickering and the need to stay close, you just were not sure if these characters could stay civil enough to be friends. The banter at times had me laughing for sure.

Seriously, if you have not read a book by Harloe Rae, you are missing out on so much! You will get the feels, and you fall for her characters. Watch out though, her alpha males will have you surrendering to them. You are like a moth to a flame with those men. The heroines are strong and are fighters. Gent is no different except Harloe has taken her writing to a whole new level! I am in awed and totally blown away with Gent! Trey never has to be a gentleman around this girl ;)

5 Dirty Stars!!!!

I'm so incredibly happy to have read this book because holy moly, it was good and I'm usually not even the type to go for the a-holes, but let me tell you, Trey won me over from the first page.

I loved how straightforward he is with everything. He's not one to waste time with pleasantries or how you doings, but instead goes straight to the target. It was quite shocking at first, to have such a bear of a hero, after sweet Ryker and charming Rowen, but Trey certainly knew how to win my heart over. His behavior is not unjustified, he has suffered from great loss and you can read all he does in the light of what happened.

Enter Raven into the equation. Bubbly, determined and sweet, but with a fiesty streak. She was a great match for Trey, not takin any of his shit, but at the same time understanding him on a very deep level.

What starts off as a super hot fling (bring a fan!), quickly becomes more for the both of them and it was very satisfying seeing Raven crack Trey's burly armour day after day.

Their banter was also priceless. I loved all the baking innuendos and dirty cupcakes ;)

As for the writing style, the author really stepped it up. All the other books were great too, don't get me wrong, but this one really caught my heart and kept it with it throughout the journey.

I won't spoil anything, but I'll just say that I loved the multiple epilogues!!! They are always a treat.

Now I'm really curious about all the other members of their gang, from fiery Delilah, to Addison and Shane. I really hope they'll get their story too! <3 <3 <3

Freaking Refreshing!
Trey, a scorching mix of hot, grumpy, difficult and irresistible, ends up smack in the middle of Raven's life and he doesn't even want to be there.

Hell, he'd rather stay away from her sweet, kind, beautiful, and sexy-as-eff all-around awesomeness any day of the week. Raven SO isn't his type.

Because Trey's type is one-night-quickie bombshells he can get out of his bed first thing in the morning. And here Raven is, dancing around town making cupcakes?

Cupcakes as delicious as she is.
As fricking sweet too.
She literally traipsed her perky butt into his town!
Now, can someone at least get her out of his hair???

Trey is disarmingly dirty, a bad boy with a heart so hard he needs it massaged to come alive for a woman. In most novels, this type of book boyfriends meet hardcore, take-no-prisoner women, someone tough as nails who forces him into submitting to love. Well, here's the kicker that I LOVED about Gent: Raven isn't your stereotypical hard**s heroine. No:

Spoiler alert: this woman doesn't only win him over by being her sweet self, but she drives him crazy for her too. Which brings me to my question for the author: how did you pull that one off in such an adorable, believable way?

Needless to say, I recommend this book to anyone who wants to smile, fan themselves, and aww out loud. Enjoy, readers, because I think you just stumbled upon your new summer read.

Please, for the love of all that is holy, not another book like this one ...

1) Asshole hero who is a manwhore and who knows "how to show a girl a good time" and is chased after by every woman who sees him - Check
2) Damaged heroine with a past who is starting over in a new town - Check
3) Annoying best friend who somehow picks up on the slightest clues that heroine is lying (usually about an interaction with the hero) and will get IN HER FACE and ask endless questions until she gets her answers (when most people in real life would have popped her one, or not have been friends with her a loooong time ago) - Check (and mind your own business, ho)
4) Characters who work in a bakery - Check
5) Awkward, manufactured first meeting between the two MCs that would never happen in real life, but was only created and over-dramatized so that tension can be forcibly laid out for them, so that then this is an "enemies to lovers" story - Check (gag)
6) Sassy locals in a small town who have no qualms getting into everyone else's business - Check
7) Girls who meet for the first time and, after knowing each other for 30 seconds, are talking to each other like BFFs and getting their drink on - Check
8) Small town filled with endless amount of good-looking, fit and smart-mouthed people - Check

All this, and I reached maybe only 10 percent of the book, if that much. No, please, just no. I beg of you ... please, stop.

I love love love Enemies to lovers, but this one just didn't had what I expected.. It's pretty damn hard to write someone who the h hates and you as a reader hate. Also the hate needs to feel real it needs to be like if it would've happened to you, you would feel angry too. That's so hard because hate/dislike is for everyone very different. Maybe I'm too hard on this one but it was just not what I expected.

This hate felt kind of forced? Like it wasn't really hate and actually it wasn't really..

I read so many fantastic reviews of people who loved this, but it was just not for me! So don't take my review to heart!

I love discovering a new to me author and oh man am I glad I got to read this book.
This enemies to lovers story captures the reader from page one. From the lush descriptions of setting that make you feel like you’re in the story to the dynamic characters, I found myself feeling all of their ups and downs, emotions, and like I was right there taking this journey with them. Raven and Trey are captivating and the chemistry is scorching hot.
I loved Gent so much and made sure to purchase it on release day. She may have been a new for me to read author before, but she is a MUST one-click author now.

Not terrible, a little too insta love for me

Hero is a manwhore, but heorine is not a virgin albeit a little inexperienced. I felt enough was done to show you ways she was special to him, but it did have a little too much of his sexual history put in. I just dont rhinok thats ever necessary. If you tell me he is a manwhore, trust me I get it, I don't need my face rubbed in it.

Trey is an arrogant arsehole. There is no point in beating around the bush, everyone in town knows it and he knows it. He is also a very attractive looking arsehole and he is very aware of that too. He works hard as a mechanic and rewards himself by indulging in the pleasures of female company. Only one night stands though.

Unfortunately, all Trey’s handsomeness and the amount of willing women in his life have gone to his head. He believes that every woman wants him. His theory is challenged when a beautiful stranger sits down beside him at the local bar one night. His usual arrogant behaviour seems to have the reverse effect on her and leaves him feeling confused but still arseholey…

Raven has arrived in Garden Grove to make a fresh start and work with her best friend in her bakery. Upon arriving she decides a drink celebrating her new beginnings is in order, however meeting the arrogant Trey was not the best start to her first night in a new town.

Raven and Trey completely clash, he assumes she is hitting on him and wants him, she just wants to sit down and have a drink. His arrogance confuses and pisses her off in equal amounts. No matter what she says, he still believes that she wants him, he definitely is a man full of confidence and self belief – albeit a bit misguided.

This is the just the beginning of a hate/love battle between these two. Raven is definitely attracted to Trey but she is also interested in why he behaves the way he does, underneath his façade she knows that there has to be much more to him. Trey is feeling conflicted about his feelings towards Raven, he wants her and is not used to being turned down. There is definitely something there between Trey & Raven but they have very different views on relationships. She is a girl who believes in love and commitment. Trey likes to take things more casually than that and very rarely goes back for a repeat performance with any woman.

It seems like fate is toying with them both when Trey repeatedly crosses paths with Raven. The desire between them builds until they can no longer ignore the pull between them and it takes it’s natural course. Could Raven be the girl that Trey has been waiting for all his life or will she be just another notch on his bedpost? Will Raven rattle the walls around Trey’s heart that seem to be reinforced with steely stubborness?

First time reading a book from this author and I’m glad I took a chance on someone new.

After loving “Watch Me Follow,” I was thrilled to receive an advance copy of “GENT.” This enemies to lovers story is one that has the right mix of humor, angst and awesome steamy moments.

Trey is my favorite kind of alpha male- hot, sexy, and an a**hole. He spends his days as a mechanic and his nights at the bar in search of a one-night stand. He’s unapologetic and that’s one of the things I love about him. He just doesn’t give a damn about what people think.

Raven’s the new girl in town, in search of a new opportunity as a baker. When she meets Trey, it’s a meeting that you know will lead to something sexy and crazy. But it’s not that simple and as a reader, I found myself dying for these two to get it on. And when they do, it’s AMAZING!

Another thing I love about GENT is that it reminded me of how much I love romance stories that take place in small towns. This one in particular, Garden Grove, is filled with memorable characters that I hope to meet in future books by Harloe Rae.

***AVAILABLE NOW - FULL REVIEW***

Harloe has released her best book yet! Gent is filled with an enemies to lovers romance that sizzles and a host of secondary characters that will make you want to stay in this small town forever.

Trey is the epitome of an a***hole. From the moment readers meet him, he spews vitriolic insults meant to harm. He has zero care for the feelings of others unless they are a part of his very small circle. What will happen, though, is that, like the heroine, readers will see the man he is underneath the surface. Readers will want to know how he became this way, and once we catch a glimpse of what has made him the way he is, they will begin to soften towards him and his gruff demeanor. The one aspect that I do like about his character is that Trey doesn’t change who he is, even as we see him fall for Raven and become a tad sweeter with her. He is still abrasive and belligerent, and I like that Harloe Rae stayed true to his character.

Raven is the transplant into this small town. While she seems sweet and docile, she is one of the few people that will call Trey on his bull. She refuses to believe that all he is is the town jerk. Part of the reason for her attachment to him is because they share a similar past, but unlike the others in the town, she refuses to let him alone. Through their encounter, readers get to see a softer side to him, and the way he ends up loving her is the reason readers love him.

Gent is filled with antagonistic and steamy scenes from the moment these two meet. She tempers that antagonism as these two get to know each other, and with each moment together, readers get to see them fall in love and evolve as people. The conflict of the story will not be a surprise to readers and neither will the resolution, but Harloe Rae gives readers a full look into what motivates these characters to fall apart and what pushes them to reconcile. So while the resolution is pretty quick, the use of alternating chapters allows readers to understand the decisions that bring them back together.

Harloe Rae’s Gent is her best work to date. She has created a cast of characters that I love, a small town I want to visit, and a enemies to lovers romance that is steamy and fun. It is definitely a must read.

Holy Gent! And he certainly isn't one. What the hell did I just read? Harloe Rae has stepped it up 100 notches and taken her writing to a completely new level of H.O.T! Ladies ... get the ice, a fan, and the cold shower ready because you're going to need it for this one. I went in prepared for all the sweetness that Harloe usually delivers, but what I got was a healthy dose of habanero heat laced with extra spicy.
This book has all the feels, the delicious angst that I love, along with being insanely sexy. The chemistry between Trey and Raven was off the charts amazing and their characters were perfectly developed. I loved the story ARC and the character's ARCs as well. You won't go wrong with this one so get those itchy one-click fingers ready.

A very quick enemies to lovers book, which as all of you have probably guessed by now...is my favorite trope, I think. This one was a little quick on the insta-love trigger for my tastes, but different books for different appetites, right? however, it was written well and the playlist was very enjoyable. Harloe Rae delivers a sensual, red-hot enemies to lovers romance!

Trent is a sexy jerk with a dark past. Seriously, he has reasons to be the way he is. Raven is a fighter looking for a better life for herself.

When they cross paths... well, it's prickly at first, but once they kiss, it gets EXPLOSIVE! Raven is the first woman to make Trent want to change, and she is definitely a game changer for him.

The perfect blend of angst, sexy, and all the feels. Don't miss this fantastic, five-star read!

I was in the mood for an enemy to lovers, asshole hero kind of book. And man did I find what I was looking for in Gent. I couldn’t put this down, from the very beginning I was hooked. I had been in a dark romance mood for a while and Gent was a nice distraction from the dark romance kick I had been on.

To say Trey was a massive ass to Raven is an understatement but I couldn’t help but love him still. Raven and him at times were like oil and water, the two just did not mix personality wise but the chemistry between them was unmistakably hot. Raven is sweet to Trey’s nasty. She balances him out and slowly she gets to know the Trey underneath the asshole personality. You may think you won’t like Trey but get to know him, there is more to him and it is that more that has you loving him. Of course Trey does something stupid, don’t all men, but I sort of understood his reaction even if I wanted to throttle him with a wrench. I liked Raven’s character, how she saw the best in things when most wouldn’t have even tried to look deeper.

I hope we get books for the secondary characters we were introduced to as well as more from Trey and Raven because I want more! Gent is a book I really enjoyed and think needs to be on your TBR lists for sure!

Wow, what can you say about Trey that hasn't already been said? He is a true di*k. He knows how he comes across, and he doesn't care. He hates people and he is fine with that. If they don't like the way he is, they can all go screw themselves. That is until Raven walks into town.

Raven is beautiful inside and out. She draws Trey in with her light and she sees something in him that nobody else can see. She sees the good in him.

But Trey is determined to keep her at arm's length. But while he is doing that, he will have her in his bed. But what he doesn't realize is that while he has her in his bed, she will also be getting into his heart.

For my first Harloe Rae story, I really enjoyed it. It is an all-around wonderful story.

I’ve been stalking this author’s Amazon page in anticipation of this book’s release. Redefining Us and Watch Me Follow are among my top ten romance novels of all time—what can I say? I love me a damaged hero... Sadly, this one really fell flat for me. I’m really puzzled at all the 5-star reviews, as there was really nothing setting this story apart from any other in the genre. The heroine’s dogged determination to pursue the hero in spite of his boorish behavior was not really my thing, and the character development seemed forced. There were some enjoyable background characters, and if you’re looking for steam, this book is not lacking in that area. I feel like the author has kinda lost her mojo, and I really hope she’s able to rediscover what had initially set her apart for me—intense, well rounded characters and dramatic story arcs.

Well, holy grumpy and broody hottie alert! Trey is a not-so-gentlemanly crabby pants...all the time. Only acting halfway decent to the women he wants in his bed.

Enter gorgeous, new-to-town Raven. They meet at a bar, he’s a complete ass to her, and she stands her ground and sasses right back. I like her immediately. Beyond that tough exterior, she knows there’s more to him, she ‘sees’ him and doesn’t back down.

And guess what? They can’t get out of each other’s heads. Once they’re able to be civil to each other, they decide to be...friends. How about a hookup while remaining friends?

I really enjoyed this book. It may have been predictable at times, but it was exactly what I was in the mood for.

I love enemies-to-lovers and this satisfied my craving for an angsty and sexy read. And I must mention...the dirty talking? DUDE. It was HOT.

Another amazing book by the talented Harloe Rae. This is the 4th book released by this author and you will not be disappointed.
Raven has moved to a town where her best friend lives to start working in her coffee shop making delicious cupcakes to sell to the local people living in this small town. When Raven goes to the local pub to meet up with her friend, that is where she stumbles upon the towns hot bad boy Trey. Its instant chemistry not only for Raven but for Trey as well. Trey has lost so much in his life and so has Raven so the connection is instant even before they each realize how similar their pasts are. being the town bad boy things to start off on a good note between these two people. Being as it is a small town and everybody knows everybody's business Raven and Trey continually run into each other, and raven is constantly reminded by the towns people what a bad boy Trey has always been. Raven feeling such a strong pull towards Trey every time she runs into him does not believe what people keep telling her. Raven finds out about the heartache in Treys past and all that seems to do is make her have a stronger pull towards Trey. She wants to be friends with him and be there for him since she knows all to well the heartache he is going through. Trey feeling the pull towards Raven still fights with what he is feeling for this new girl in town. Trey finally decides that he likes the way he feels when he is around raven so agrees to be friends with a little extra something ;). 1-click this book the moment it goes live .. You wont be disappointed ..

Gent by Harloe Rae

Raven is moving across the state to an entire new town, Garden Grove. She is starting a job as a baker for her friends Coffee shop Jitters. Being the newbie in town Raven has no clue who or what she’s getting into.

Trey, surly and broody and a bad attitude. He is one of the biggest pricks(putting that nicely) in Garden Grove. He has a past that has made him that way but everyone just lets him be until Raven meets him.

Raven can see the good deep down in Trey even though it’s really hard to see. As these two learn about each other, Trey gets under Ravens skin and vice versa. These two fight feelings as they just become friends with benefits the game changes as time goes on.

Trey is a bit of an a$$ and doesn’t care that he is one. It takes a bit of time before you actually end up liking him. But Raven holds onto hope, that maybe just maybe there is a gentleman under all the roughness.

It’s a story of finding something worth living and changing for. And let me just say that when these to hit the sheets the sexiness is on fire.
