When I was a kid, my best friend betrayed me in the worst way possible, ripping my family to shreds in the aftermath. She ruined my life in one fell swoop, and didn’t even have the heart to warn me.

Now, nearly a decade later, I’m back in the town I grew up in, determined to make her pay.

They say revenge is a dangerous game, but I’ve never been one to play it safe. There is nothing I’ll love more than to find her weakness and use it to destroy her. The lie she told all those years ago will be her undoing.

Savannah Montgomery may be queen of the rich and entitled, but she’s about to meet her match.

THE SINNER is a standalone and part of the Haven Grace Prep series. It contains angst, violence, and scenes that may be triggering for some readers. If you're looking for a sweet love story, this may not be for you.

'THE SINNER' is the first full length book in 'ne to me author' K. Clayton's 'Haven Grace Prep' series. In this we meet Savannah & Grayson. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.'

I blame the cover, the synopsis, the teasers, god those teasers are all over my newsfeed!! I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it!

Savannah is Queen Bee of Haven Grace Prep, senior year is about to kick off and she for one can't wait for this year to be over with her so that she can leave this town behind her, she's hoping her dreams come true of securing a scholarship to Juilliard.

Enter the new quarterback Grayson, he's back in town with one mission on his mind and that's to get revenge. He's going to make Savannah's life hell for what she put his family through years previously. She's not going to know what's hit her.

With these two nothing is as black and white as what I first assumed!!

And believe me sparks are going to fly!!

This book ticked so many boxes, I never knew what was going to come at me going into this but it was unexpectedly good, it blew all my expectations out the window! The angst was off the charts, the emotions that came at me out of nowhere left me breathless, the feels hit me right where they hurt!! The seconds, minutes, hours that I lived, breathed, inhaled I never wanted this to end! This highschool bully romance is like no other I've read before!

86288929-204193730966423-6438329235684720640-o

I adore books like this, ones that take you unawares, the unique storyline, the past where we first encountered their undeniable bond even at the age of eight, to later reconnecting with redemption on his mind. The anguish, the hurt, I felt it to my bones. This book was utterly perfect!

* Teaser used is off the authors facebook page *

[going to heavily spoil this, so here's your warning]

This book is written like the author got all of their knowledge on high school from Riverdale and it shows. The beginning seemed promising, especially because the heroine is the popular girl at school and I was hoping she wouldn't be a complete doormat (spoiler: she is). However, it quickly goes downhill when all she does is slut shame another girl on the cheerleading squad to make herself feel better. What's worse is this is somehow justified by the author because Kinsley (the one being slut shamed) attempted to frame her for rape. That's disgusting, but it still doesn't excuse all of their friends contributing to the shaming, calling her a "walking STD" and telling her "spreading your legs for every boy that looks at you isn't proper stretching" etc. Where is the justification? Even though Kinsley did something horrible, there should be no excuse for one girl consistently shaming another for having sex.

Grayson, the apparent bully of the story, is constantly reminding us he's vindictive and evil, but never does anything of the sort. If you want to write a villain, maybe actually show them doing something villainous? That's just a suggestion. Not to mention, am I supposed to be scared of a boy that vehemently hates someone for unknowingly doing something bad when she was nine years old? She was nine. Not even double digits in age. And that's a valid excuse to ruin someone's entire fucking life? Then, he also contributes to Kinsley's slut shaming, but then uses her for sex to take his mind of Savannah. I mean, PLEASE MAKE ALL OF THIS MAKE SENSE. You're going to call her a whore constantly and then ask her for sex? WHERE IS THE FUCKING LOGIC?

I can't believe we're in the year of 2020 and adult authors still think it's acceptable to justify slut shaming and constantly put other girls down in their novels to make their pure, bland heroine have more personality. Meanwhile, the heroine in question's only personality trait is being a virgin. Imagine how tired we are.

***4,5 "Rocky!!!" stars***

"She's everything I shouldn't want, and everything I can't resist."

When i read the blurb of this book, i knew that i needed it in my life.
I love these kind of books, but this story went beyond any expectation that i had.
I loved this story, i loved these characters and I'm craving for more...
This story went beyond the eye can see and i enjoyed wholeheartedly the whole ride...
Savannah and Grayson are memorable characters and i can assure that this book is a hidden gem that the fans of this genre should definitely give a shot!!!

"I've always meant to protect her, and instead, I caused her the most pain."

Well, Savannah Montgomery is the queen of Haven Grace Prep school...
She is the captain of the cheerleading team and the most popular girl in the school, and her dream is to earn a place on Juilliard and to left this damn town behind...
Savannah is like the rest of the people on her private school... Wealthy, beautiful, arrogant...
Or isn't she???

"Just one more year and I can get out of this gordforsaken place. The moment I graduate is the moment I ditch this lie of a life I'm living."

Add to that the new quarterback, Grayson Hayworth...
A boy driven by revenge... Revenge toward a girl that he used to know and whom with lies destroyed his family...
After 8 years away, Grayson is back in town and he is determined to avenge the wrong that this said girl did in his family!!!!
Savannah Montgomery is about to pay....

"She doesn't know what's coming to her -which is exactly how I want it."

Savannah and Grayson used to be the best friends.... They even had feelings for each other, even in that tender age that they were then...
And then both of their worlds had broken apart and they left alone to fight in their lives...
Now, Grayson is back, but he is not the same boy that Savannah loved for almost all her life and he is after her, and the only way to survive is to stay far away from him...
But what will happen when every time that they are close, their hearts are beating wildly???

"What happened to you?"
"You happened to me. There isn't a single thing in my life that you haven't ruined. Broken everything that ever meant anything to me. Now, I won't stop until I break you."

"She's nothing but a liar -a traitor in the worst degree_ and I need to remember that."

"One of us will end up hurt, and I have a feeling it won't be him."

Well, i loved both Savannah and Grayson...
They were pure fire together... They were just perfect for each other....
I love how tough Savannah were... I admired her courage in everything that life was throwing on her way... I loved how courageous she was and how she was dealing with Grayson's devious ways...
As for Grayson??? This boy was wonderful!!!! Even when he was acting all cruel and tough, i knew that his heart was pure and with no hatred for Savannah...
He just felt obligated to the memory of his father, and being close to Savannah was so hard to complete his plan....

"I'm not afraid of you, Grayson."
"Maybe not yet, but you will be."

"I'm feeling things for her I shouldn't. Hell, every part of me should hate her with a burning passion, and most of me does. But there is still part of me that wants to throw myself at her feet and give her everything she's ever wanted. I need to get this shit under control before it ruins me -before she ruins me. Again."

Well, this is one bully romance that it was more complicated than you could guess and i totally recommend it to the fans (or not) of this genre....
And honestly, i can not wait for the next books in the series...
The secondary characters in here were so beautiful and i would love to see them again... Especially Brady and Laney had stolen my heart!! They were so thoughtful and wonderful friends!!!
And wow!!!! Delaney with Knox???? I really want to see that!!!! Bring it on!!!!

"Tell me to stop, Sav... Tell me to leave. You have to."
"Stay."

If you like bully reads you will love The Sinner.
It was very well written, engaging, with interesting characters, however the steamy scenes didn’t exactly fit their supposed age.

' I REMEMBER EVERY LAST THING ABOUT YOU , BUT TRUST ME WHEN I SAY,
YOU'RE GOING TO WISH I DIDN'T '

One of the best best friends -to enemies -to lovers I've read so far.

Savanna Montgomery is a real queen , she's so good at keep up appearances while inside she's slowly crushing . So strong , self-confident , she basically rocks in every aspects .
She thought she was untouchable , but she was so wrong.
When the past catch up to you , you can't do anything .

he wants to break me, but you can't break what's already broken

Grayson Hayworth , a man on a mission : destroy Savanna's life .
She took everything from him , and now he wants revenge .
Once upon a time they where inseparable , but when the past and the secrets come back to hunt you,
you can only put on a mask and hope no one let it fall.

"She's everything I shouldn't want, and everything I can't resist."

There was so much chemistry since the beginning , all that hate and resentment were ready to burn all .
But when the truth came out , everything change...
I loved this story , I'm not gonna spoiler anything I'll let you find out for yourself ;)
I gave it 4.5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

High School Bully Romance

The Sinner by Kelsey Clayton is book 1 in the Haven Grace Prep series and can stand alone. It’s a high school bully romance/childhood friends romance with a lot of emotion, angst, and deceit. For the most part I really liked this book. I’m always itching to get mt hands on a great bully romance and this one ticked many boxes for me. In addition to this, the writing style reminds me of Ella Fields new adult romances mixed with Penelope Douglas (Bully). This is a great combination, right? Some parts of the book got on my nerves (I’ve always hated a mean girl with an elitist attitude) and couldn’t STAND one particular character who needed a punch in the face, but the rest of the novel was great and filled with some gnarly tension. There’s a bit of a secret in this one that readers will be anxious to find out about, but for the most part it’s a story about two people who must learn to coexist in a sea of sharks. It’s a book about revenge, high school kids who were born with silver spoons in their mouths, and a lot of sexual chemistry between enemies. This is a fairy quick read and I breezed right through this one in a matter of hours. Soaking up the sun and warmth while reading a great book? That’s what I call a GREAT day!

If you’re looking for a new series set in the world of elite high schoolers, then this may be the perfect series for you. Each book has its own romance and revolves around different tropes. This is a bully romance and the next on is an enemies-to-lovers! I’m excited to read it.

I was waiting on this book because i read many people said that the guy is possessive and i liked that! BUT HOWEVER I GIVE 3.7 STARS... i have my own reason for that i like to share that 😅😜😂

SOOO.... THE HERO in his mind since he was a kid HE THOUGHT THE HEROINE DID SOMETHING... something that is very personal to him and he decided that she was the very enemy for him 😣

NOT CONTACT HER FOR A LONG TIME, HE meet her again thinking “it was a revenge thing” WHEN DEEP DOWN HE KNOWS HE LOVES HER.

‼️THE HEROINE IS BEAUTIFUL AND POPULAR BUT NOT A BULLY AND NOT A QUEEN EVEN THOUGH HER FRIENDS THOUGHT SHE WAS.

‼️LOVE IN FIRST SIGHT
The hero and heroine fell in love since 9 years old.

‼️THE HERO IS OTT POSSESSIVE ALPHA MALE

But also stupid and childish.

‼️MANY JEALOUS SCENE FROM THE HERO

‼️I DON’T LIKE THE HERO VERY MUCH THO... He’s not the hero i wanted on a book. Even though he is very possessive but his action and mind are VERY CHILDISH AND STUPID. There are many times i talk to the book like i was saying to the hero like he was there: you stupid, what a stupid man, i hate you. CAUSE THATS HOW VERY CHILDISH OF HIM....

‼️AFTER THEY WERE OFFICIALLY DATED, NO CHEATING. BUT.... When they were hooking up and not officially dated. the hero always flirts OW in front of the heroine... 😒😞

‼️NO SEPARATION

‼️HOT SMUT SCENES

‼️WHY I DON’T LIKE THE HERO AND SAID HE WAS STUPID AND CHILDISH? Here’s why:

1. When they weren’t officially together and basically the hero got himself a bl*wjob from OW (ONLY THAT AND NOTHING MORE). BUT HE SAID DURING THAT TIME HE ONLY THINKS ABOUT THE HEROINE. Wtf?

2. The hero kiss someone else and almost got too far but he stopped and said HE ONLY WANTS THE HEROINE AFTER HE KISSED HER. AGAIN WTF?

3. AFTER HE TAKE THE HEROINE’S VIRGINITY which in his head it was heaven for him that the heroine gave that to him and that was his only. HE FLIRT WITH OW THE NEXT DAY IN FRONT OF THE HEROINE. Only flirt though but still WHY???

4. HE ONLY FLIRTS WITH OW because he knows the heroine doesn’t like the ow and it was actually her enemy. And he only do that just to make the heroine mad. BUT...

When THE HEROINE FLIRTS WITH OM, the heroine got soooooooooo very mad... WTF 😑😑😑
“The thought of Savannah being with any guy puts an uneasy feeling in my stomach. There was a point in time where she belonged to me, and swore it, would say that way. Now she’s anything but mine.”
The heroine only flirts with the OM BECAUSE THE HERO DID IT TO HER SO WHY NOT....

“Seeing you today, sitting on his lap with his hands all over you, I couldn’t you breathe. I wanted to rip you right out of his grasp.” 😒😒😒😒 but he flirts with the ow in front of the heroine for weeks 😂 and only one time the HEROINE DID THAT HE GOT MAD? 😂 what about her feelings? Huh? 😡😡

5. HE ACTUALLY LOVED HER SO MUCH BUT HE DIDN’T FIGHT FOR HER IN THE BEGINNING AND ALWAYS MADE A STUPID CHILDISH MOVES...

6. He got so jealous even at the beginning when he saw the heroine with om that was actually her best friend. At the beginning when he first saw her after many years! And he went on punching the her best friend thinking it was okay cause he was jealous! HE EVEN SAID STAY AWAY FROM HER... BUT AFTER THAT HE GOES TO THE OW TO HAVE A BLOW... wtf

7. He have a unprotected s*x with her but he didn’t say he was clean! I don’t know if he was celibate or what because he only kiss and have a blow from ow. I don’t know about his past and he didn’t even tell the heroine all about it 😒😒😒😒

8. When the heroine saw what the hero did was very childish and wrong. The way he keep hooking up with her and flirt other girls afterwards in front of her, she want to end it the whole thing. THE HERO DIDN’T LIKE IT AND TELLS HER NO. What a selfish b*tch 😡

‼️I LOVE THAT EVEN THOUGH THIS IS HAPPENING IN HIGH SCHOOL. THE HEROINE IS a cool chick and didn’t date anyone in school, she was not a bully even though she was very popular... I LOVE THAT IN THE END HER FRIENDS FROM THE BEGINNING always accepts her and still be close to her 🥺 they didn’t bully her.. they still loves her so much 🥺

‼️HEROINE IS A VIRGIN

‼️BOTH HERO AND HEROINE PUSH AWAY... but hero is the one that do it many times 😒

The hero always not fight for her... and thats just NO!

But in the end he fights for her after he found out that the heroine was not wrong at all. BUT HE SHOULD DO THAT AT FIRST!!!! 😒

‼️AFTER HE FOUND OUT THAT THE HEROINE ACTUALLY WAS NOT WRONG AT ALL...

HE APOLOGIZED TO THE HEROINE TOO MANY TIMES AND DO THIS SWEET THINGS TO HER 😒😂

“The last few weeks, the last eight years even, have been nothing but hell. Between ripped away from each other when we were just kids, and being reunited under the most f*cked up circumstances known to man- Its all taught me one thing for sure: My life is better with you in it.”

“I’d pull my heart out and hand it to you if i thought it would do me any good. The only thing I want is you, because I’m in love with you. I knew it when I was f*cking nine years old, and I damn well know it now. You’re it for me, Savannah. There’s no one else, and I don’t want to live a life without you by my side.”

😒😒😒😒
Even though that was so sweet, i still don’t like him.

THE HERO HAD MANY TIMES TO TELL HER WHY HE DO THAT TO HER, WHY HIS REASONS ARE BUT NO.. HE PLAYED THE CHILDISH STUPID GAME EVER. He didn’t sat down and talk to her about it like a man should be, but he play her mind and trick her and thinking no i’m not in love with her but he did. He played her and ALWAYS BREAKS HER HEART....

Is that love? F*CKING NOOOOOO

When the hero saw in front of him that the heroine is on the floor after her dad beat her up, he comes to her and I CAN HELP YOU, He’s hurting you!
Heroine: and you haven’t? (Right words for me) She snaps. Don’t try playing knight in shining armor now! You’ve been no better than he is!
The hero only said DON’T BE LIKE THAT.

Well what she said was true!

Why the hero is so stupid😭😭😭😭

‼️ALSO WHEN THEY WERE STARTING TO HOOKING UP AND HE BROKE THINGS OFF WITH HER BASICALLY KICKED HER OUT OF HIS HOUSE. A DAY LATER HE SEEN WITH OW and he makes the ow his girlfriend. THE PART 😡 that makes me so mad is that we don’t know if the hero actually have s*x with the OW AT THE MOMENT. AND THE HEROINE DIDN’T ASK HIM ABOUT IT! Like seriously? Doesn’t she want to know if his even clean or celibate!!!! 😡

‼️HAPPY ENDING. The epilogue only few months later but only that. ITS NOT ENOUGH! 😭😭😭

I read all the romance and how they reunited and then no epilogue that is longer? Only few months? I feel a sudden attack lol

😞
Its a good book but not great enough. I have many other heroes that can do better! That is not childish and stupid enough like the hero here. 😑

Kelsey Clayton is a new-to-me author and I been pleasantly surprised by this book. I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series, especially The Saint (Knox's story).

Knox appears as a bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks; yet, still an enigma. Not sure how he will *spoiler alert* end up with Laney but I'm here for that pairing. Let's goooo.

Let's get down to business though with Savannah and Grayson's story)

✹Spoilers ahead✹

Story Plot

This book starts off with senior year just kicking off. Savannah (h) who Queen Bee of Haven Grace Prep is hoping for a smooth year and acceptance into Juilliard. We find out she is quite the opposite of the stereotypical rich-bitchy-queen-bee that she presents to others at school, really, it is riches to rags for her. School is her safe space away from her home life that includes a drunk father and living in the crappy part of town. But that space is threaten when Grayson (H) who is her childhood sweetheart comes back to town. He wants nothing to do with her and wants to make Savannah's life hell for what she put his family through years previously. However, what these two learn is nothing is ever completely black and white.

MAIN CHARACTERS

Savannah "Savi" Montgomery (h)

She was a rather weak heroine for 85% of the book UNTIL SHE FINALLY MADE GRAYSON GROVEL. Honestly, the groveling was the best part and made her character redeemable. When she finally had enough of his shit and Grayson knew he fully wanted her, she made him grovel awhile.

She let Grayson walk all over her most of the time. Basically, she was mesmerized by the dick so much that she rarely fought back when he treated her like shit with throwing other women in her face, having sex with her then leaving right after it, and punishing her without telling her what she did in the past.

My issues with the living on the bad side of town story plotline:

Savi used to live with the high elite and I was a little mind boggled how no one knew she went away and came back except Gray and Delaney but hey whatever works I guess, right? No one knew she now lived in the bad part of town. Basically, for 4 years straight her secret was kept until Trey blurted it out in front of everyone at a party. Which brings me to my first issue with this plotline...

⇒ What happened to Trey? He blurted her secret and like dipped out of the book. Did he get his ass kicked or die? Like where did he go?

The judgment of living on the bad side of town reminded me of The O.C. how they always judged Ryan for living in Chino.

Grayson "Gray" Hayworth (H)

Any time another male breaths in Savi's direction ⤵⤵⤵

He was an OTT possessive alpha male. He couldn't fully have Savi but no one else could either. He felt her virginity even belonged to him... like bruh you're an asshole and don't deserve it at all.

Gray only acted selfish, childish, and probably deserved to grovel even more cause he did Savi wrong so much.

OM/OW drama

⇒ OM: The "OM" was Savi's gay best friend who she said was her boyfriend for 4 years to keep others from getting too close to her. Other than that, Savi flirted with other dudes to get a rise out of Gray but she never did anything with other guys. This worked but it hurt others and was toxic as hell. Grayson could never keep his anger in check when she did flirt/hang with Bradley it resulted in brutally beating up "OM" Bradley and threatening other guys.

⇒ OW: This book has a lot of OW drama. Gray was getting bjs from Kinsley (who is Savi frenemy) to piss Savi off. While he was getting blown he was thinking of Savi which makes it I guess ok? Then he was sorta with Savi, she told Gray she loved him. He proceeded to kick her out of his house and become boyfriend/girlfriend with Kinsley.

Overall~

This was the first book in the Haven Grace Prep series and it was not bad. Even though the characters were quite problematic, I did still like the book.

I HATE it when the hero of revenge romances is spurned on to hate the heroine over something that could be solved over a simple conversation. But, aside from that, I don't think I've ever been as enraged at a character as I was with Grayson (H).

Possessiveness is cute and all but Grayson constantly kept on hanging out with the girl who Savannah (h) hates, Kinsley, and since the moment he saw her again, he makes it his personal mission to keep every single human with a dick between his legs because, in his words, she's HiS.

No one has taken what should have been mine, and for as long as I’m around, that’s how it’s going to stay.

And he thought this right before taking her virginity then proceeded to ignore her the next day and goad her with Kinsley.

Oh, and let's not forget the fact he kicked her out of his house after she told him she loved him and proceeded to... you guessed it, rub Kinsley in her face. TOO MUCH. I'M SORRY, BUT THAT'S TOO MUCH OF OW DRAMA FOR ME TO HANDLE, especially when each time Savannah tries to strike back, she bends over backward to let him stop her from doing anything to defy him.

This would've been a good read if it weren't for the fact that Savannah was so, so spineless throughout this entire book. Grayson just kept on going at her and she just took it like it was served on a golden platter. It took her the entire book to actually grow a backbone and make him grovel which, honestly, was pretty good grovelling. I just wished it was longer because it was way too hard to read Savannah falling into Grayson's arms and being at his beck and call throughout the entire book and Grayson grovelling for like, what? A chapter? Two?

Caratteristiche: new adult, odio-amore, amici-amanti,scuola elitaria
Stile narrativo: scorrevole e moderno
Tipo di finale: autoconclusivo
Voto: 4,5 stelle

Disclaimer: I received an Advance Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher/author. All opinions in my review are my own.

This is a story that I really enjoyed from start to finish. It really surprised me in all the best ways.

The characters were great. The reader really gets a sense of their motivations and their lives. The characters were very relatable and were written very realistically. I loved how the author shows both good and bad traits in her characters to make them authentic. I was really sucked into these characters' lives and breathed this story because of the characters. I also enjoyed the secondary characters and I can't wait to get to know more of them in future books in this series.

The romance in this book was pretty hot. It had so many elements and tropes that I love. Childhood friends, bully romance, enemies-to-lovers, and I just at them all up. I was so addicted to Savannah and Grayson's love story. They had this tangible and electric chemistry that can only be attained from having known someone so deeply. Their childhood friendship really played into the romance quite a bit.

I enjoyed the writing style and the author's voice. The author has a very smooth way of telling the story. I liked the way that the story was presented. We get small flashbacks in time to when Savannah and Grayson were children during some pivotal moments. I liked that they were sprinkled into the story but they didn't overwhelm it.

The plot was engaging and kept my interest. I liked the direction that the author took the story in. I wasn't quite sure what was going to happen which enticed me to keep on reading.

Overall, this is such a mesmerizing love story that will be sure to put a smile on your face by the end. I couldn't get enough of Savannah and Grayson. I can't wait for the subsequent books in this series. This is my first time reading this author's work but I am now smitten with her storytelling. Her writing style really suits the mature young adult genre. I can't wait for more!

OH. MY. GAWD! What a ride! The Sinner took me on a roller coaster ride of feels with plenty of angsty goodness that my little heart desires. I'm sometimes hesitant to read a new author, but something about this book called out to me, and I am so glad that it did. Everything about this book is absolute perfection! Kelsey Clayton hooked me right from the start, and kept me obsessing long after I finished.

Savannah "Savi" is the Queen Bee of Haven Grace Prep. She's a senior and the captain of the cheer squad with dreams of getting a scholarship to Julliard. On the outside looking in, it seems as if she has the picture perfect life, but that couldn't be further from the truth. She is just very good at keeping things hidden behind a flawless public façade.

Grayson "Gray" is the new quarterback at the school. He left town eight years ago, but now he's back and hellbent on getting revenge on the girl who tore his family apart. Once he finds the leverage that he needs, he sets his plan into motion. But after a moment of weakness, he gets one taste of her and finds that he just can't stay away.

The Sinner is a friends-to-enemies-to-lover's story that rocked my whole world. The story was blisteringly hot and delicious and filled with so much bully goodness that I love. This book has everything you want... Angst, lies, secrets and steamy scenes. Kelsey did an amazing job on this bully romance, and I simply can't wait for book two!

Okay, so I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Let me start off by saying I almost didn't read it because of people complaining about the blowjobs from the OW, and while, yes, it does happen once on page, you need to remember this is a teenage boy with a horrible past who's blinded by revenge. I understood his reasons.

...Hell, every part of me should hate her with a burning passion, and most of me does. But there is still a part of me that wants to throw myself at her feet and give her everything she's ever wanted. I need to get this shit under control before it ruins me - before she ruins me. Again....

This book centers on Savannah and Grayson. A misunderstanding from the past rips these childhood sweethearts apart and ruins both of their lives. Gray does everything he can to tear down Savi, but he's unaware of the demons she hides behind her fake happiness.

This story was a whirlwind of heartache, destruction, pain, revenge, lust, passion, and eventual redemption. It took Gray a loooooong while to accept his feelings, but when he did? SWOON

..."If you don't want to forgive me yet, that's fine, but one day you will. I won't stop until you do." He moves his lips to my ear and whispers, "We were always meant to be together. You may not believe that anymore, but that's all right. I'll believe in it enough for the both of us."...

Believe me, Savi doesn't forgive him easily. You can sense his hurt but after everything he did to Savi, I'm glad she didn't just take him back without groveling.

...He drops to his knees in front of me, and everyone gasps.
"You can have it. Christ, I'd pull my heart out and hand it to you if I thought it would do me any good. The only thing I want is you, because I'm in love with you. I knew it when I was fucking nine years old, and I damn well know it now. You're it for me, Savannah. There's no one else, and I don't want to live a life without you by my side."
...

This was a well done bully romance. Lots of angst, steam, push and pull. There is some OW/OM drama but it's mostly for show. Yea, Gray gets a BJ from a biotch but damn, his life was controlled by his anger and he's still a lost little boy deep down. The story was emotional and good. That's what ultimately matters in a good romance. The steam? A little bit mature for teens, but damn.

This is my first book of Kelsey Clayton and I must really say this, she is good! I finished The Sinner in one sitting and I am looking forward to read more of her works. The characters were easy to love. In fact I had instant connection with them all not just with the hero and the heroine. And the plot? Captivating.

Now, I am off the next book in the series.

4 STARS

This was a solid friends to enemies to lovers new adult romance. I enjoyed the storyline and the hero was the right balance of bully (that’s sounds so weird to say but it’s nevertheless true).

I’ll definitely be listening to more.

After a long time I've had my hands on some really good teenage/High school stuff. It almost felt like a story of an adult couple but the very teenage-ish elements had me believing it was rather a very impressive High school fiction.

So the story was amazing 💞💞
I couldn't even guess the extent of the betrayal it could have involved. I was really amazed at some of the very twisting twists.

Plotting too was too good. I enjoyed the banter, hot chemistry, friendship goals they gave and ofcourse the love the couple had for each other.

The characters were rather weird in a good way ofcourse.
Starting off with Gray, he's really protective of what is his(which at some points was odd for an 18 year old, but I still loved it). He's made believe that his childhood love is the reason for his broken family. With the aim of revenge he tried and got succeed in hurting her.
Many times he was hot and cold with his nature. It was kinda annoying but taken his confused self it was somehow acceptable.

Savannah....uhm...so she's strong (no doubt in it) but I wish that lying crap was cut short. I don't know what made her believe that to look rich means to have power and uper hand. But that shit lessened the respect I had for her. But I really admire her steeled nature to cope up with assholes like Kinsley.
At the end she really did a good job of proving Gray's father innocent also almost died during the procedure.

It was after so so long that my interest in teenage high school stuff has been regained. I thoroughly enjoyed this emotional ride.

2/5 ⭐️

🤍 Virgin heroine
🤍 Man whore
🤍 Second chance
🤍 friends to enemies to lovers
🤍 Kind of miscommunication
🚩 OW Drama, no OM/cheating/sharing

I was really devasted that this was just a 2 ⭐️ book for me even though I thought it would be a 4 -5 ⭐️ 😭😭😭

So my biggest problem was the HERO 🙈😬

There were way to many scenes with OWs on page (multiple - one of them is hs enemy) 💩
I didn't like his personality... He was possessive and jealous about her male friends while he was the whole time with OW & got bjs 🥶

ALSOOO OMG I laughed out loud at the end because *SPOILER* 👀👀👀👀 remember he is 18? He just killed her father 🤡🫡 like where am I ?! I know fictional things are not always were 'real' but this is just not it 💀💀💀💀

I didn't like the heroine either!

Her attitude and 'bitchy' personality gave me these mean girl vibes and it wasn't really my cup of tea 🙈🥶

The ending was way to rushed and also their relationship was hate and then there was love without any build up 😔😪

I'm really sad and hope that her next book won't disappoint me because I really liked her triolgy 🙌🙊😍
