Revelation 18:8–10

Therefore in one dayf her plagues will overtake her:

death, mourning and famine.

She will be consumed by fire,g

for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.

Threefold Woe Over Babylon’s Fall

“When the kings of the earth who committed adultery with herh and shared her luxuryi see the smoke of her burning,j they will weep and mourn over her.k 10 Terrified at her torment, they will stand far offl and cry:

you mighty city of Babylon!

death and mourning and famine,

and she will be burned up with fire;

for mighty is the Lord God who has judged her.”

And the kings of the earth, who committed sexual immorality and lived in luxury with her, will weep and wail over her when they see the smoke of her burning. 10 They will stand far off, in fear of her torment, and say,

“Alas! Alas! You great city,

you mighty city, Babylon!

For in a single hour your judgment has come.”
