A single dad, a warrior, a hero.
And the only person who can save Charlotte Devereux. The woman who once shattered his life.
When former Special Forces soldier Finn Bollinger is asked to help with an undercover mission, he's up for the task. His job teaching survival skills to civilians at Linear Tactical keeps him sharp, and he can still handle himself in the field.
But the Army damn well didn't teach Finn how to handle Charlotte Devereux. She's back and she's all sorts of bad news.
Charlotte can't change the past. Can't change the choices she made or the fact that they cost her everything. All she can do is endure the fallout. Even if that means putting her future in the hands of Finn, the man who has every right to want to destroy her.
And can in so many more ways than he thinks.
When Finn's undercover mission goes impossibly wrong, he'll have to depend on Charlotte's strength in order to survive. But everyone has a breaking point.
He's fighting for what's right.
She's fighting just to survive...

Linear Tactical
Janine Crouch
“Heat had never been their problem. Not getting burned? That was another story”
Finn, Linear Tactical and ex-army hero was crushed by her in the most epic of ways when she married another man. In the years that she had left town Charlie had been through hell. The once rich princess with a heart of gold was so far in her past she couldn’t even see the girl she used to be.
Charlie is doing it tough working 3 jobs just to get by. Her life is complicated and tough. When she accidentally reconnects with a Finn she is certain it is temporary at best.
I really enjoyed this book, it is the second in the Linear Tactical series and I enjoyed it as much as the first Cyclone. This can be read as a stand-alone novel with hea. Janine is a crafter of romantic suspense. I received this book free in a BookBub promotion.
Charlie(Charlotte) may have come from a privileged background but currently she is living in her car and trying to support her family. Finn nearly lost his career as a marine over Charlie eight years ago when she married another man and he lost it. Now she has come back into his life as a tutor to his son who has learning difficulties due to inadequate care from his mother when he was young. Finn will do anything for his son even deal with the woman from his past When things don't add up he starts to question what he has always believed about why she left him. When danger comes to not only her but his linear brothers they will all need to fight together. This is a story that draws you in from the very first page and never lets you go Be warned don't start it unless you have plenty of time I was reading into the early hours of the morning saying just one more chapter
I was given a copy of this book but this is a true and honest review
I liked Finn. Not only was he a terrific dad but he was great at his job at Linear Tactical, too. He and the team were trying to find out who was selling NORAD secrets. The action and tension kept me flipping the pages. Charlie was just as surprised to find out that Finn was the father of the boy she was to tutor as he was to see her. Even though she hadn't seen him in 8 years, she was still drawn to him. She really needed that job and hoped their past wouldn't mess up her chances. Turned out it was a problem for Finn. He didn't want Charlie near him. Or let her tutor his son.
Charlie had not had it easy since she left years before. Back then her family was very wealthy but not now. I felt sorry for Charlie - being so broke and couldn't tell anybody. She used every penny she made to pay for her father's care. With no money left over, she was living in her car.
Eagle had lots of action as the team went undercover, with Charlie included. Finn and Charlie still had strong feelings for each other so eventually they tried to work things out.
This book was the perfect mix of action, suspense, romance and heat. You won't want to put it down.
**I was given a complimentary copy which I am voluntarily reviewing.**
I received an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
Great story line from beginning to end.
I look forward to reading more about the guys from Linear Tactical

Finn and Charlie, high school sweethearts, seemed destined to travel on the road of life together but a fork in the road led Charlie and Finn down separate paths, each with life altering consequences.... for Finn it meant a son named Ethan and for Charlie, a loveless marriage to a man with wealth and means.
I adored Ethan and his resilience. Ms. Crouch gave us insight into the reality of drug addiction and the impact on the unborn as well as the residual effect on children born to addicted mothers. Ethan paid the price but was fortunate to have a father who, once aware that he had a son, became the “daddy” he deserved. Charlie’s relationship with Ethan, helping him with his learning disability was an inspirational and interesting read. Ethan’s friendship with Jess was sooo endearing!!! I won’t soon forget the revelation as to why Ethan and Jess
were such good friends.
For me one of the highlights of this story was the eventual heart to heart dialogue between Finn and Charlie about their relationship. Finn’s passionate words
were so beautifully stated. ...”In life, we don’t see the bigger picture. We just see pieces. .... Some pieces of our past- yours and mine together are always going to be jagged and rough and difficult to look at. But maybe, when the whole is finished, it might be something beautiful.” Stellar writing!!!!
I was also intrigued by the strip club storyline and a glimpse into the work life of the dancers and bartenders. It’s unfortunate that the money entices these girls to take on this work and we come to realize that for some it was the only way to pay the bills and provide for their families..... for a great personal sacrifice.
The undercover “mission” portion of this story was my least favorite part of the book. In my opinion it was just not as well written and the sequence of events surrounding this storyline left a little to be desired. Thus, my 4 star instead of 5 star rating!
In conclusion, however, I would definitely recommend this book to those who enjoy second chance romance novels. I am so looking forward to Aiden and Violet’s story as the series continues. Thank you Ms. Crouch!
