April 18, 2024 - The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is warning residents not to use a Vietnamese herbal ointment called "Cao Bôi Trĩ Cây Thầu Dầu" (Castor Oil Hemorrhoid Extract) because it contains lead and can be fatal. 4.19.24 — Today, I was fortunate enough to run into 11 members of the Santa Monica Police Department equine patrol, participating in a first ever photo shoot involving officers and their horses. Chief is a five-year-old Frenchie we rescued from the South L.A. shelter in January. He had a necrotic leg that needed to be amputated. Now he is all healed up and is much more comfortable as a tripod. It doesn't hinder him at all - he loves going on walks. Whoever adopts this sweet boy is in for a lifetime of love and fun.
