2017 -  Saw action in all 11 games while starting nine of them at linebacker (final nine)...finished second on the team with 85 tackles and 20 of them for a loss...also had two pass breakups and two QB hurries.

2016 - Beard played in ten games with one start ... registered 51 total tackles with 3.5 tackles for a loss and one pass break up.

Prior to Southern - Beard was an inside linebacker for coach Byron Bode and the Bobcats ... two-time All-District selection on defense, Beard was a first-team selection as a senior where he finished the year with 100 tackles, 70 solo, averaging eight tackles a game ... as a junior, he was a second-team All-District selection ... Beard was a team captain and a team MVP, helping his team to the Texas state playoffs twice.
