Appeared in all 53 games, which included 37 at shortstop despite having not played the position consistently since high school ... finished top-15 in the MVC in nearly every statistical category but was conspicuously left off the All-MVC team. The Warrenton, Mo. native ranked top-15 in the league in batting average (.318; 14th), slugging percentage (.552; 14th), on-base percentage (.426; 15th), runs scored (30; 10th), hits (50; 7th), runs batted in (47; 2nd), home runs (9; 6th), total bases (85; 6th), walks (30; 5th) and stolen bases (10; 13th) … 15 multi-hit games, which included a three hit game against then No. 25 Mississippi State (2/21) … reached base in 22-straight games- which was the longest streak by a Saluki since 2013 … reached base at least once in 46 of SIU’s 53 games … was a perfect 10-for-10 in stolen base attempts … was named to the MVC All-Tournament team after she went 5-for-9 (.556) with a home run in each of SIU's three wins at the MVC Tournament to tie the conference record for home runs in a single tournament.

Played in and started all 21 games … tied for fifth in the Missouri Valley Conference in doubles and tied for sixth in the league in RBI … reached base in 15 of SIU’s 21 games … tallied multiple hits in six games … 10 of her 18 hits went for extra bases … went 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk and two RBI in SIU’s win over Nicholls State (2/16) … went 2-for-3 with a home run and tied her career-high with four RBI in SIU’s win over IUPUI (3/8) … cracked the top-10 in school history with her two doubles against Northern Illinois (3/6).

Hit .409 for the season- which ranked second in the MVC and 39th nationally … Was also the fifth-best batting average in school history … the first Saluki to hit over .400 in a single-season since 1996 … Recorded 22 multi-hit games in 49 games this season - the most by a Saluki since 1995 … .629 slugging percentage was the seventh-best in a single-season in program history … 65 hits were the third-most in the MVC this season and the third-most in a single-season in school history … One of just three in the MVC with 100-plus total bases this season and became the first Saluki with triple-digit total bases (100) since 1993 … Tied for the MVC lead in doubles (15) with the third-most in a single-season in program history … Finished top-10 in the MVC in six statistical categories including third in total bases (100), tied for first in doubles (15), second in the MVC in batting average (.409), tied for sixth in RBI (42), third in hits (65) and ninth in slugging percentage (.612) … Hit .667 (6-for-9) with three doubles in SIU’s three NCAA Regional games. … Went 2-for-3 vs. No. 16 Northwestern and 2-for-4 with a home run against Kentucky.

Appeared in and started all 53 games … Made 39 starts in the outfield and 14 starts at shortstop … hit .329 with 11 doubles and eight home runs ... Finished in the top-10 of the Missouri Valley Conference in five statistical categories including third in total bases (92), fifth in home runs (8), tied for sixth in runs scored (32), seventh in slugging percentage (.532) and ninth in hits (57) … Led all Valley freshmen in total bases (92) and runs scored (32) … Finished top-five amongst Valley freshman in four additional categories including home runs (t-2nd, 8), hits (3rd, 57), slugging percentage (3rd, .532) and batting average (5th, .329) … Her 57 hits were the third-most by a freshman in program history while her 11 doubles are tied for the fourth-most by a first-year in school history … Also ranks top-10 for Saluki freshmen in home runs (T-6th) and batting average (T-10th) … Hit her first collegiate home run in her second career game at UTSA (2/9) … Had a streak of four-straight games with at least two hits … Went 4-for-4 with a double and a RBI in game two of doubleheader at Bradley (4/21) … Went 3-for-3 with two home runs and four RBI at St Louis (3/21).

PRIOR TO SIU

Had a successful high school career at Warrenton High School in Warrenton, Mo. Jansen helped her team to the State Championship in her junior and senior season as well as back-to-back district championships in her freshman and sophomore season. The first six time all-state selection in Warrenton High School history. Made the team four times in softball and twice in basketball. Hit .538 in high school with 14 home runs and 128 RBI. Also recorded 40 steals. Jansen made the All-State team all four years and was named the St. Louis Metro Area Player of the Year in 2015. She set a Missouri state record with 52 career doubles and holds school records in career batting average (.539), hits (174), runs (151) and RBI (128). Also played club softball for Esprit Premier 18U. Also played basketball helping her team to District Championships in 2015 and 16. Jansen was an All-State Basketball selection in 2016 and made the All-Conference team in 2014, 15 and 16. Member of the National Honor Society and graduated sixth out of 244 students.

Born to Todd and Laurie Jansen on April 1, 1999 in Quincy, Illinois... Father manages Republic Services and her mother is a school nurse... Has two sisters, Jessica and Jordan... Attended the same high school as former New York Giants player Joel Clinger... Plans to major in sports administration.
